I purchased this bike back in October for my 10 year old daughter's Christmas gift. Got around to assembling it a few days ago. My first impression is that it is a sturdy bike and should be trouble free until she outgrows it in a few years. She loves the color!!

On the downside, there are no assembly instructions in the box and the manual does not cover assembly - mainly safety. There are also no assembly guides on the Diamondback site - not even a contact email address.

On careful inspection there is a warning on the box that this bike should only be sold fully assembled and adjusted - in other words through a bike shop. Put simply, Amazon should not be selling this unit.

When I asked Amazon for the assembly instructions they told me to look in the manual - even though I told them the manual does not have assembly instructions. They also suggested that I contact Diamondback even though I told them that Diamondback has little or no contact information.

Unless you are comfortable around bicycles you will probably need to take this to a Diamondback dealer and have them assemble it for you. There will probably be a charge for this - which Amazon should probably reimburse you for.

I was able to assemble it on my own thanks to bicycletutor.com. So the bike gets and BicycleTutor both get 5 stars and Amazon and Diamondback each get 0 starts.

Good bike but you are on your own.

Great bike for my 8 year old daughter. Only problem the shifting was a little stiff for her, but with time it is loosening up and getting easier for her to use.

The bike was excellent. Putting it together was not a problem. The reason for four out of five stars is the missing front wheel locking safety washers. There were none included in the parts bag. Otherwise, great bike.

I bought this bike for my 6y/o for Christmas and its great! Was easy to put together, very sturdy and the paint is gorgeous! She has ridden it a few times and loves it. Excellent bike for the money!

Very nice bike and in good condition.
Only negative is that there are no assembly instructions. The "manual" that comes with it is really a safety manual and even says that it should only be assembled by qualified personnel. You are on your own for the assembly. I would recommend taking it to a bike shop for assembly if you are not comfortable figuring it out on your own.
