4.0 out of 5 stars Not on the cheap side, but worth it
My daughter is 3.5 years old, average height and the 16" is a bit too high for her. Still, the 12" wheels would be too short so choosing this size was a good decision (she manages with the included training wheels).
The bike looks and rides great. It is sturdy, very high quality paint finish and parts. These are not $[...] bike you buy for a few months. These would...

3.0 out of 5 stars NO INSTRUCTIONS
Seems like a good bike but it took a long time to put together without any instructions and unlike the other reviewer I did not have a pleasant experience with customer service. I was told that there was generic instructions on the website on bike assembly (not specifically for this bike) and that if I still had problems to take it to a bike shop. I also was told that...

Seems like a good bike but it took a long time to put together without any instructions and unlike the other reviewer I did not have a pleasant experience with customer service. I was told that there was generic instructions on the website on bike assembly (not specifically for this bike) and that if I still had problems to take it to a bike shop. I also was told that this bike does not include instructions because it was not originally supposed to be sold unassembled (he said in a very condescending manner!). I told him that now that it is being sold this way I think they should at least have some basic instructions in the box!

The bike looks and rides great. It is sturdy, very high quality paint finish and parts. These are not $[...] bike you buy for a few months. These would hold for your second and third child as well, and that's why they're on the expensive side (although there are more expensive, of course).
The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is missing assembly instructions in the shipped box and I could not find them on Diamond Back website either. I'm not super technical and was able to assemble the bike, but just to make sure I got it right I called their customer support to check if they have instructions somewhere. They were very nice and sent me the instructions by email. They explained they just started with online sales recently and that's why the package is missing instructions (they might upload it here at some point - [...]).

Overall, great bike, but making the assembly instructions available in the box or online is essential.

I bought this as a Christmas present for my grandaughter. My son picked it so I don't know anything about price, features, etc.
Just wanted everyone to know that instructions are included but assembly is basic anyway for anyone familiar with basic bikes. I also didn't find any sharp edges or have problems with the stem.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Nice Bike For A Little Girl, May 15, 2011

Pardon the gender stereotype, but I'm guessing most boys would not care for this one. Most bikes in this price range are not very good. I looked around for a little better grade and found this one. Overall, the bike is well made, but at this price range some corners are cut. I had to hacksaw the quill on the handlebar stem so that it would actually slide all the way into the headset. There is some rough/unfinished machining in the fork/head tube that can cut your fingers and/or hang up the stem as well. Overall, however, it is completely acceptable for this price and age range. The training wheels are more intelligently and securely designed than many, which is a plus. If you are considering a Wal Mart type bike, check this one out. If your little girl rides much at all I suspect she will be happier on this one for just a few dollars more.
