This bike has been grat so far. If it is your first mtb, 29ers are huge. The shock were great for the price and it is a lot of fun on the trails, I highly recommend the bike.

So I was leary of buying a Dimondback, I felt the quality had slipped in the last decade. I was impressed with the component group however. You actually can't buy the components for what this entire bike costs. And after some research I discovered its a Raleigh frame, which is respectable. Assembling the bike was no problem, but tuning it was challenging. Adjusting the disc brakes I think is more than the average person will manage. I also had to take links from the chain, and I shortened the cables as they were all over. I don't think most people would be satisified with this product out of the box... But a trip to your local bike shop still brings this bike in at a comfortable price, and its a very nice ride. I'm glad I did this, a comparable ride from a more respected brand would cost another $500. If you are buying this to ride with kids, commute to work, and non-technical riding this is a no brainer.

very durable and comfortable bike. i've put it through a couple of hard hitting trails and the bike responds really good. you will not regret this buy. good bike for both rough and smooth trails. big wheels equals good acceleration.

Not for downhill or hard riding according to label on shock :-),

This bike is great, I love the hydraulic brakes and shock lockout.I noticed this label on the front shock of this bike (on the SR Suntour XCR V3 100mm shocks). Pretty funny: --- FEM362 WARNING: USE ONLY FOR LEISURE CROSS COUNTRY. DO NOT USE FOR: FREERIDE / DOWNHILL DIRT JUMPER OR ANY HARD RIDING Improper use of this fork can result in fork failure and personal injury! FOR MORE DETAILS SEE OWNER'S MANUAL OR WWW.SRSUNTOUR-CYCLING.COM. CAUTION: Before using the fork, please read thoroughly the instruction sheet! --- Anyway, this is my first good bike and I love riding and taking care of it. Many things about it have been a pleasant surprise including the feel of the brakes, the wonderful shock lockout switch on the handlebars, and the overall smoothness. I'm using it for commuting, so that shock disclaimer sticker doesn't even apply to me, but it sure seems that this bike is built well enough to use for hard riding. On the other hand, overall assembly of this bike was not great. Front derailer was not adjusted well, and two plastic cable ties were missing. A grip cap fell out, and the other one was not on straight when I got it. Still, I do recommend this great mountain bike. I haven't seen any competitors with such features as 29" tires, hydraulic brakes and shock lockout for this six hundred dollar price. |
