4.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Bike, Great Price, November 9, 2010
This review is from: Diamondback Recoil Comp Full Suspension Mountain Bike (2011 Model, 26-Inch Wheels) (Sports)
As far as Full Suspension bikes go, you won't find a better bike for the price. All of the adjustments on the front and rear shocks make this bike incredible for all types of terrain and rider preferences. The only reason I would give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I have had trouble with the derailleurs...Great components though, just not made for this bike. IE the front derailleur adjustments cannot be reached without special tools because of where the frame sits...kind of frustrating but obviously not a deal breaker.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Very Best Beginner Mountain Bike, July 30, 2011
By
This review is from: Diamondback Recoil Comp Full Suspension Mountain Bike (2011 Model, 26-Inch Wheels) (Sports)
Being a beginner at mountain biking, this bike has everything you need. Aluminum frame, gears which switch easily, air shocks and big tires. The clear coat is not impervious to damage, but its very close to it! Unlike regular bikes, this bike does not have a kick stand so I'm forced to lay my bike on the ground or have someone hold it up when setting up the kids chariot to the back. The low gears and locking front shocks make climbing up a cinch. Yes, you can actually press down on the forks and lock them in the down position so you don't have to climb the mountain with the feeling of falling backwards. That was the selling point for me and I feel that it was worth the extra money. This is my favorite bike of all time :) I had it professionally built and so far I've gone close to 50 miles without any incident. The brakes require a 50 or 60 stop "easy stopping" break-in period so that the discs do not warp or become defective during the first few rides. I've climbed Mt. Jurupa with ease and gone down very smoothly. The big wheels do not slip at all. Very good bike. I highly recommend it. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Hands down, best full suspension bike for the price, December 15, 2011

I've down a ton of research, both live and reading reviews. I decided on this bad boy because of the bang for your buck, and the smoothness of the ride. Purchased this bike as my first full suspension bike. I am a big guy 250lbs. And needed the softer ride. The bike is rock solid, and has everything one would need. I'd highly recommend paying a bike shop to put it together if you've never dealt with full suspension before. The components are sound, and the rims are quality. The bike however is pretty heavy, but nearly all bikes with any sort of suspension are going to be- within this price range. I figure I'll use this bike for 3 years and see if it would be worth it to me to spend the extra few thousand for a top quality bike. By that time I should be in prime riding shape peddling a slightly heavier bike then the really nice ones.
