Bike is very comfortable.

I called the Raleigh/Diamondback customer service and was basically told, "not our problem, it's out of warranty".

The only people who will think this is a Diamondback are those who don't know what a Diamondback is.

Bought this bike to start exercising again and get back in shape. Gained alot of weight due to an injury. Needed a bike that was comfortable and could support me. Been riding about 3 miles per day, 4 days per week, for about 6 months now and no problems at all. Bike is very comfortable. When you buy this bike, I had the option of the curved back handle bars or the straight ones. Bought the curved ones thinking they would be more comfortable, but had an awkward angle on my wrists. The straight bars are more comfortable.

Got this for a good price before Christmas with free shipping. Our 14 year old son is 6'3" and the extra large frame looked perfect. It does fit him very nicely. The ergonomics are perfect and the bike is comfortable and fast.

Assembly is extremely easy. Really just needs the handlebars, front wheel, and brakes attached. Easy to do with simple tools. Anybody with basic knowledge of bikes and tools can do it in little time.

HOWEVER...if you do so, you apparently void the otherwise excellent waranty. After just a couple of months of use, the left crank fell off and the entire crank assemply needed to be replaced. Was defective due to stripped threads. Took it into the Diamondback authorized warranty shop in Fresno (Herb Bauer) and was told that the warranty is no good unless an authorized bike shop assembled the bike after purchase. The crank assembly was pre-assembled out of the box - all I did was spin the pedals on. Ended up paying ~$65 for the repair which included a higher quality Shimano crank assembly. They said their professional assembly would have cost $70-$80, so I guess I'm still ahead. But be warned that warranty coverage apparently requires assembly by an authorized shop.

Bought the bike about three weeks ago and, as other reviewers have noted, it is a 'sturdy' bike frame (translation the frame is indestructible but heavy). The wheels are great and assembly was a breeze. The reason I am writing this review is to start a note about the fact that the chain broke on me on my 9-10th ride and maybe this is a fluke but if anyone else notes it, then it may be worth taking caution.

I ordered the bike back in the summer after searching the local stores. It was a good deal and came with free shipping. It came sooner than expected, which was nice. It wasn't hard to put together, but I'm pretty handy.

Overall, I like the bike. It's a good value for the money. The seat is very comfortable and I like the front suspension. Both of these make it easier since I'm not 25 any more (I'm 45). It rides well and shifts pretty well. It's a good bike for riding around the neighborhood.

There were only (2) things I didn't like. First, both of the rims were slightly bent. That didn't seem normal. I don't think they were bent in shipping; I think the person or the machine that aligns the spokes just didn't go a great job. Secondly, it came with the "curved" handle bars that other postings were talking about. I really didn't like them, they are older-person type handle bars. If I had known that I would have gotten a different model. There was no way to tell; the guy at Dick's said that whether you get the "cuved" ones or the "traditional" ones was random.

I went to Amazon about the wheels. All I wanted them to do was to send me (2) wheels. No way to specify that on the "return" form but I tried via "contact us." So they sent me a whole new bike instead. I ended up swapping out one of the wheels, but even one of the new ones they sent was still somewhat bent. So I swapped out one wheel and sent the "new" bike back. They paid for all shipping so I'm sure they didn't make any money.

Regarding the handlebars, I bought a Diamondback bike for my wife a couple of weeks later at the local Dicks because it was cheaper than Amazon. Her bike had the traditional handle bars and she said she like mine better after riding mine. So rather than pay $20 for new handlebars I swapped them out and we were both happy.

Purchased this bike as an Amazon Warehouse Open box deal... for the price I paid, I would most definately say it was a far better purchase than a Walmart bike as other reviewers noted. The bike came in a box that had been ripped open, but taped back together and shipped to me. The bike was in perfect shape itself along with all parts, maybe I got lucky. I am 28 and it was relatively easy to put together and I havent touched a bike since i was 12. The brakes and shifters needed adjustments but i figured this much, as well as the front and back wheel bearing/axle to get it to spin straight and smooth. The wheels seem cheap and thin in comparison to bikes I am used to seeing, but they do spin straight and work as they should. In the end, I think the bike is outstanding for the money spent, but as other reviewers note, it is somewhat heavier than an aluminum frame bike, so beware if weight is important. I plan to use this bike as exercise and basically as an around town cruiser bike path/street bike... if it takes more effort for me to use it, so be it, im not afraid of a little work and sweat. Im sure there are much better bikes for commuters or professional bikers, i did find it in the "comfort bike" section so it is what i expect. I gave three stars due to the heavy weight and some cheapness found in the parts and the fact that i dislike the handlebar design, although i still believe it to be a solid bike. Also, I think the handlebars are a little on the weird and old fashioned side... i purchased a replacement handlebar for 12 bucks on amazon because it is annoying to hold the handles at the angle... im sure its normal for a comfort bike, but i find it awkward to control and also less appealing.
