Faithful,

Great harmonies faithfully rendered, yet delivered with a fresh point of view and a lot of heart. This was obviously a work of love. I would love to hear what he could do with the more introspective songs from Surf's Up or better yet; original tunes. I'm looking forward to John's next offering.

Sorry this review is late in the game but John you really did an extraordinary job. I'm sure All "the boy's" Respect and admire your effort and talent. This work belongs on the shelf and archives of every serious Beach Boy's fan in the world.I know, I've been to over 35 of their shows over the past years since 1965, and a great inspiration to all musicians. John, keep up the great work. Love those beach sound effects between the cuts. Look forward to your next CD "It's about time" and your original stuff. Next time you are down in Jupiter Fl. let's lay down a track at Echo Beach Studios!.I am experiencing difficulty getting on your web site and sending you mail.If you get this write me back at DrRonGrassi@WebTV.net Or: 561-746-3544. Surf's Up!......Ron

Keeping the BB Music Alive!,

John Hunter Phillips has done a fabulous job of capturing the essense of the Beach Boy sound. If you are a fan of the Beach Boys music, then I urge you to purchase this CD. John's duet with Billy Hinsche is excellent, and his version of "Wild Honey" is superb and right on target with today's sound. Carl and Dennis are gone now, and we have Mike Love touring as the Beach Boys, but for how long? No one knows, but John Hunter Phillips is the future of the Beach Boy sound.

John has created the perfect tribute album with "Diamonds on the Beach"; a flawless blend of immense talent, sensitive respect for the original work, and a willingness to step out of the "surf box" and offer his interpretations of somewhat lesser known Beach Boys-related gems. His absolutely stunning vocals combined with truly solid instrumental backing have resulted in an audio treasure that has become one of my all time favorite CDs. In addition to crafting superb covers, John's own appreciable writing and composing abilities shine through on his subsequent offering "It's About Time". You'll want both of these jewels for your collection. Best wishes, John! - - - Pete Sferra

This wonderful collection of songs is reminiscent of the Beach Boys, but Phillips delivers them with his own sound. Satisfying takes on good songs, with wonderful harmonies. I like his voice best on the kind of rockin' bluesy things, and his "Wild Honey" to me is outstanding. I also love "Somewhere Near Japan." There isn't a track on this CD that I skip over, I like them all. When a second CD is available, I will definitely buy it.
