This is the first full length record from the Selinsgrove quintet. It shows their roots with its unique blend of folk, country, and rock music. The music is pleasing to listen to, and very upbeat in world full of angst-ridden music. Bret Alexander and Mike Naydock, the chief songwriters, are musical geniuses with their down home lyrics and catchy choruses. Vocalist, Pete Palladino, and vocalist/guitarist, Jeff Feltenberger, provide brilliant harmonies that will have you singing along as you drive. The production on the CD is not of a standard that record companies may accept, but this record is top quality music with decent production. This CD is a must for fans of rock, country, and folk music - you will not be disappointed.

What can I say other than this is the BEST group I have ever heard! I don't know if I can really explain my LOVE for the Badlees other than they are so COOL! Their song writing, their talent and their musicianship is definitely something to stand up and take notice! Diamonds In The Coal was actually an earlier album I "discovered" after already owning three later releases River Songs, Up There Down Here and Amazing Grace. This group could do any style, any time period of music and it will be awesome!! Anyone who loves music in the folk rock/category will love The Badlees!
