A great introduction to a great band, July 23, 2000
This review is from: Diamonds Diamonds (Audio CD)
Basically I can do without the 2 outtakes but everything else on this album is pretty much essential. The cover is alot cooler on vinyl!

OKAY, BUT INCOMPLETE...., April 6, 2002
This review is from: Diamonds Diamonds (Audio CD)
MAX WEBSTER were a strange band! They had a real hard rock side
to them, they had a mellow side...then a very wierd jazzy side,
which I could never understand!. They could also be quite silly! KIm Mitchell was a very talented and versatile guitarist, but was very inconsistent in his songwriting. This compilation rescues the
better songs from my two least favorite MW albums, A MILLION
VACATIONS and MUTINY UP MY SLEEVE, but it also leaves out songs
from UNIVERSAL JUVENILES and it doesn't include TORONTO TONTOS
from their first album, which is a crime since TORONTO may be
the funniest song ever to be released on a rock album! IT does
include HANGOVER, however and GRAVITY and some other good MAX
LOBSTER songs. NOT BAD, but it coulda been better!
