I was somewhat dissappointed with this set of books. All these books are are a rehash of Dian Hanson's History of Men's Magazines which I already had. She even uses the same magazine covers in a smaller version of that set. If you have History of Men's Magazines I don't see the necessity of Pin-up Magazines. If you are a completist, go for it!!

This anthology goes way back to the early 1900, way before my time. The examples and wide spread sources from around the world shows a common human thread for beauty and lusty admiration of the female body. The past holds clues of present day values. Well put together.

I have been buying books on amazon for many YEARS. This book set purchase by a mile, is the best value I have ever received on amazon. Just one book for 26 bucks would be alright with me, the printing quality is amazing, the writing style is classic. I was surprised to see 3 volumes and a slipcase....for 26 bucks....are you kidding me. It is like buying books in a time machine 25 years ago pricing wise.

Lets talk about art value.....there was so much great art...it left me speechless, the mags, the photos..."This is history" ( see-Raiders of the lost ark). I am glad that the author has preserved our pop culture for generations to come.

We need more books, affordable and quality like the above, I was beginning to think books were finished and I would I-pad for the rest of my life, that holding it in my hands....wow it bought me back, the colors are amazing....I really don't think any computer screen can compare.

Even at 75 bucks, it would be great, heck even at 100....but at 26.....a no-brainer.

My highest recommendation.

The publisher and editor got this one completely wrong: don't judge a book by its publisher and editor this time. All the stuff from back then which you had to try and IGNORE is in this collection. Except for the Betty Page of which maybe four pictures, that is it. If I had any friends, I would not recommend this book to them.
