Book Description

July 23, 2003
QUANTUM RELIGION is the second book ofSylvester Steffen's "Second Enlightenment Trilogy" The theme of the Trilogy'sfirst book, PRIMARYSCRIPTURE, is communication. (It is available from 1stBooksLibrary, www.1stbooks.com). QUANTUM RELIGION's theme is consciousness, the embodiedmindfulness that is born from the joined working of Reason and Faith. Theevolving ascendancy of purpose, of enlightened intention, is the fruit ofintercourse between Reason and Faith.QUANTUM RELIGION edifies the ground state ofa brighter humanism that is intentionally vitalized and nurtured in thedependent dynamic of Reason and Faith. Author Steffen argues the co-equalstatus of Reason and Faith, not only for purposes of advancing communal sanityand accommodated living but also for the enlightenment of religiousconsciousness, civility and self-realization.The themes of Economy (cosmic, natural), Ecology (spiritual and material), and Eucharist (soul/body mutuality)are joined in their unity context . . . the context of cosmic continuity andsymbiotic biology, and the common ground of cosmology, philosophy, theology andpolitics.

About the Author

Author Sylvester Steffen - alifetime student of theology and biology, business entrepeneur, andpractitioner of family responsibilities - embodies a rich and differentiatedmind of cross-disciplinary insight. His wide personal experience, his interestsand study make him a communicator rich in urgent ideas. Steffen is steadfast in confronting institutional self-obsession, whether religious, political, scientific or other. His eclectic mix of worldly wisdom and moral disciplineconfronts cultural myopia, the self-interest focus of professional disciplines. Author Steffen claims no quick answers to complex social problems but he doesadvance a creative process of societal dialog by which cross-purposes might bereconciled with a common purpose. His interdisciplinary approach to rationalityis enlightening for old theologies in need of updating, as well as for politicsand economics fixated in feudalistic philosophies that exploit the marginalizedand advance globally the politics of ecological disregard. --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, February 17, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Diana an Illustrated Collection and Price Guide: Porcelain Plates (Paperback)
I expected more from this book after seeing the beautiful cover but this is a poor quality book in my opinion. Black & white pictures and very poor photography. Can't believe this actually went to press. Looks like something that put out by high schoolers.
