5.0 out of 5 stars A Fitting Tribute.
This is my favorite CD. It is a fitting tribute to a very special woman. Some of my favorite songs on this CD are: "Make me a channel of your peace," "You are loved," "Angel," "Hymn to her," just to name a few, but I think the one song that best describes the way people feel about her passing is "Gone too soon" by...

3.0 out of 5 stars Beatiful album cover, good idea, too big a variety of music
I got this album when it first came out, like so many of us did, and was a little disappointed. Many musicians contributed to this album, some of them first released their songs here, but the variety is too great. While I like the idea of a tribute to the Princess this double album is a very strange mix of music, I've always wondered how someone came up with the...

Some of my favorite songs on this CD are: "Make me a channel of your peace," "You are loved," "Angel," "Hymn to her," just to name a few, but I think the one song that best describes the way people feel about her passing is "Gone too soon" by Michael Jackson. May Diana rest in peace. God Bless Her.

Many musicians contributed to this album, some of them first released their songs here, but the variety is too great. While I like the idea of a tribute to the Princess this double album is a very strange mix of music, I've always wondered how someone came up with the selection. I do like many of the selections, but was this list compiled from artists in Diana's colllection of recordings or did various family members come up with people they liked? I do like the idea that someone thought to include "I am in love with the world" by Chicken Shed, they are a childrens group that the Princess was a Patron of.

4.0 out of 5 stars Choked everytime, February 14, 2000
This review is from: Diana Princess of Wales Tribute (Audio CD)
"Gone too soon" has been mentioned already by one of the previous reviewers. It is Impossible NOT to cry when listening to this track on a jet plane - close(?) to heaven.

I always toast people who have gone when i'm at 39000 feet.

Try it and see if you don't agree.

God Rest you Diana.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this collection of songs for a touching tribute., June 14, 1999

I have always admired Princess Diana from the time that she was engaged to the Prince of Wales. This collection of songs sums up the feelings of the world about the way Princess Diana touched our hearts through out her years in the spot light. We will always remember her.

This is a wonderful and touching collection of music that helps to immortalize the memory of the Princess of Wales. Peter Gabriel's original song "In The Sun" alone is worth the price of these two CDs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gone Too Soon!, February 16, 2010
This review is from: Diana Princess of Wales Tribute (Audio CD)
Princess Diana died too young and tragically in 1997. She is one those iconic figures who young like Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, and others. If she had lived, she would be in her fifties and still looking fabulous. She had a terrific sense of humor that comes across, a love and compassion for humankind, and deep love for her sons, William and Harry. In response to her tragic loss, the stars came out in force to remember her. The Chicken Shed Theatre has children serenading the lost princess with "I am in Love with the World." The Chicken Shed Theatre is not as well know as it should be but it's one of the finest theatres in London. The other songs like "Pavane," sung by the divine British soprano, Lesley Garrett CBE, inspired me to buy one of her compilations and she's brilliant singer. There is Queen's classic, "Who Wants to Live Forever," as well as so many others like Pavarotti, Annie Lennox, Eric Clapton CBE OBE, Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, and so many others. I hope the money for this collection goes directly to charity because that's probably Diana would have wanted in the first place.

I bought this when my sister passed away. It was played a lot through my grieving process. When I listen to it today, it still reminds me of my sister.
