Her voice is quite impeccable throughout the performance.

The audio is fine and the video does resemble VHS, but it is still great to watch!
Nathaniel Hill
I have never seen her in concert, but if I get the chance I will.

You can complain that this isn't a remastered high quality disk, but the glamour and talent isn't lost! This was probably copied from a VHS version, but it's great to have! Thank the Brasilians for capturing this concert on DVD! The audio is fine and the video does resemble VHS, but it is still great to watch!

This production captures the '70's granduer of Diana Ross and Las Vegas! The opening sequence was groundbreaking theatrics - a breakaway from cheesey Vegas shows, and it's caught perfectly on video. This was shot for HBO, and they did a great job shooting a live show at Caesars Palace. You have to love it for the historical value also of seeing Diana visit guests in the audience, such as her three cute little daughters who sing "Reach Out" with their mom, meeting the original Mrs. Ross, her mother, and of course, a rare cameo moment with Marvin Gaye.

If you don't own this, you are not a true Ross fan, and will never experience her in her grandest moments from the late Seventies - she even comments about her wild nights at Studio 54. What a classic!

I just received this DVD. Since there was no info on Amazon.com, and since it kept going in and out of print without shipping, I began to get suspicious. After All, Amazon.com was the only retailer I found this DVD at.
I was surprised to receive this DVD, only to find out it is a Brazilian Version of her Las Vegas Concert in 1979. The menus were not in english, but they were navigatable. This DVD does Play Region 1.
Sound is Great 5.1 Dolby or 2.0 Dolby. Video is not as good. It looks like a transfer from Video to DVD. Low Budget. No enclosed paper with DVD.
I'm sure Diana Ross didn't supervise the production of this DVD.
If you are a Diana Ross Fan, It's still an excellent value. The concert is a very good one, with a great selection of songs. Overall 5 Star Rating for Sound, 3 Star Rating for Video.

The two-star review is not for Diana's performance. She deserves five stars for her magnificent performance. But this cheaply made video is just a quick cash-in. No doubt, this is a much loved video that has been highly anticipated for DVD release. Unfortunately, this DVD is not worth waiting for.
While it sounds great, the picture is horrible. On my TV (28 inches screen), the screen is blurry and cropped. You cannot see things in sharp contrast. I put it in my DVD-Rom and got a sharper image. But I would rather play this on TV.
This is a disappointing DVD. I hope HBO or Motown or whatever company produced this video contact the makers of the DVD since it is certainly not an official Diana Ross release. It's a cheap transfer from VHS to DVD.
Fans of Diana Ross and this concert video have been warned.

There isn't that much Diana Ross Material on DVD. The pickins are slim but, with that in mind, you won't be disappointed. It seems to have been transfered from a VHS tape format. Not a problem with slight adjustments to your video monitor...a few color, contrast, and brightness adjustments and you are off to Las Vegas!!! from the comfort of your TV room, of course. I, like so many, have been a Diana Ross fan since the mid-sixties and although this performance doesn't include Mary, Flo, or Cindy; still it gives the essence of what we love about the BOSS!!! Miss Ross! Seeing any grown-woman, pop icon/actress, mother of five, strut to and frow across a huge Las Vegas stage singing: "I Ain't Been Licked", is worth the price of the DVD alone. Until such time as there is more "Digital-Diana," Treat yourself to this DVD. You won't be sorry.

Josephine Baker would've been proud of Miss Ross. This Caesar's Palace concert was a spectacular all singing, all dancing event that showcased Diana's incredible talents. The glamour, glitz and the sheer razzmataz all hailed from by-gone era.

Firstly, the chanteuse was in her prime vocally - her voice had matured nicely, but it was still strong and honey-toned. Secondly, Diana looked breathtakingly beautiful and radiant. And thirdly, her performance was inspired and heart-felt; she gave this performance 100%, and proved that she was the consummate entertainer.

There are several highlights to the show, but the songs from The Boss album were superb - "I Ain't Been Licked", "It's My House", "No One Gets the Prize", "The Boss" and the lovely "All For One". Other highlights included a moving "Lady Sings the Blues" segment; her rendition of "My Man" was emotional and poignant.

"I Want to Be Bad" is sassy but classy. And of course, no Ross concert would be complete without that perennially popular "Reach Out And Touch". Diana's mother looked so proud when she was introduced to everyone. It was good seeing Marvin Gaye joining in with the fun.

What this show now needs is the proper packaging and re-mastering it deserves. Until then, we'll have to make do with this DVD while we take a trip down memory lane. This is a live performance par excellence. Get it - you won't regret it!
