Diana, the teenage princess who matured into a symbol of grace and strength before dying tragically in 1997, is a figure of awe and mystery to much of the world. A&E's Biography: Diana looks into her life and work with an eye toward the forces that moved her. Interviews with family and friends provide insight into her early life and her private feelings during and after her courtship with Prince Charles. Even more enlightening is the documentary footage that shows her almost continuously under surveillance by the international press, which continued until the very moment of her death. She was clearly a passionate, committed, and deeply troubled woman, and Biography: Diana gives us a dramatic portrait of one of the 20th century's most inspiring heroines. --Rob Lightner

From the back cover

Her grace, beauty, and strength made her a beloved icon to millions. When she died in 1997, the loss was felt around the world. Princess Diana first captivated the world as a beautiful 19-year-old bride. She was loved unreservedly by the public throughout her separation from Prince Charles and the scandal that ensued, and she was mourned on every continent after her death in Paris in August 1997. Diana: The True Story features candid recollections from family members and close confidants, many speaking here for the first time. Sometimes critical, sometimes warm, always revealing, their observations paint a stunning portrait of one of the most famous and mysterious women of the twentieth century. Biography goes beyond the tabloid tales and tearful tributes for an illuminating profile of the Princess who lived--and died--in the spotlight.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very interesting, disappointing narration, June 12, 2001

It's been a while since I've seen it but I remember liking this video ( You do run the risk of seeing the usual footage shown in other videos). My only complaint would be Peter Graves as narrator, I like him well enough as an actor but for narration his voice is too much like mine, it just won't do. The video is worth buying.

This magnificient video is a tribute to a wonderful woman that wrestled so much in life. Because of the adversities, she knew how to fight them and wins. but she lost her last wrestle.
