Nice tips, but her other book would give you those., July 13, 2001
This review is from: Diane Irons' 14-Day Beauty Boot Camp: The Crash Course for Looking and Feeling Great w/ one Audio CD (Hardcover)
If you honestly think you can do this beauty boot camp in 14 days, think again. Mrs. Irons tells you to clean out your closets and kitchen cabinets and reorganize everything in one day. I am sorry, but unless you are a sloth with no work or children to care for, this is insane. I might be able to do it in a month, and that's if that is all I did extra, on top of keeping my house together and kids fed. Her tips on the cosmetic application were lacking, you definately would need another accompaniment manual to guide you. I get the feeling she took her other book "The world's Best Kept Beauty Secrets" and tried to add them to some 14 day Boot Camp. The only positive thing in this book are those Beauty Secrets.
If you buy this planning to be more beautiful in 14 days, plan again. You may end up losing weight (or comitting suicide). She asks that you keep mirrors all over the house. Drink lots of water (how many times do we hear that, it doesn't make it happen). A better excercise guide would be "Body for Life".
There are no recomendations on products except go for natural stuff, I just want to know what is good. I don't like wasting money, so I promptly returned the book.
Overall, the chapters on your daily improvement Beauty camp were too vague to help.
From what I saw at the book store "Beauty" by Rona Berg looked like what I was looking for.

A Total Diet Program in One, May 8, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Diane Irons' 14-Day Beauty Boot Camp: The Crash Course for Looking and Feeling Great w/ one Audio CD (Hardcover)
Diane Irons has done it again. This is an entire program in a slim, easy to follow book and CD. The whole success of my two weeks (lost 13 pounds) was listening to the CD over and over again. The book may not have a lot of content, but the CD is an entire hour of motivation. It's me making the changes, and having to chart them day by day spurred on by my own beauty coach. It was me making the food choices, deciding how I was going to get the water down, etc. I would buy this just for the CD and Diane's daily thoughts and motivation on beauty. It's good to know when I gain a few pounds I have Beauty Boot Camp and Diane Irons ready to put me straight!

Boot camp for those who want to look and feel gorgeous!, April 14, 2002
This review is from: Diane Irons' 14-Day Beauty Boot Camp: The Crash Course for Looking and Feeling Great w/ one Audio CD (Hardcover)
This is a fun book for those who want to kickstart a makeover.
Diane Irons presents 14 days of "tasks" to accomplish to help you achieve your best.
The Boot Camp begins with a simple diet that is low sugar, high protein and chalk full of complex carbohydrates and vegetables. She also gives tips on how to make the diet effective. Her suggestions include drinking green tea, filling up with fiber, drinking tons of water and more.
Though I elected not to follow her menu plan, I still found the rest of her book to be worth the price.
Within days I found I had streamlined my beauty routine, given my bathroom a spalike appearance through some inexpensive additions, pared down my wardrobe, cleaned my pantry and more! Diane's book gave me the "kick" I needed to get it done.
Each page in the book provides tips and tricks to make your self look, and feel better physically and mentally!
Day 1 of boot camp begins with decluttering your environment. A great way to start feeling in control. This is one area where Diane falters though. In one day, I was supposed to have my kitchen cleaned, wardrobe sorted, bathroom dejunked, etc. etc. These are pretty big projects and the kitchen alone can take a good day or so.
So the title of the book "14 Day Beauty Boot Camp" is not truly an accurate name but its certainly catchy!
What I decided to do, was follow the information for day 1. When I had completed all the tasks go on to day 2. This may take several weeks for some as cleaning out your closet, washing hairbrushes and turning your bathroom into a slice of heaven are time consuming projects!
Despite the fact that the timing is not accurate, the book is still a great source of inspiration and a fun way to trim your weight, improve your wardrobe, boost energy and more!
What I especially enjoy about the book is the tips Diane includes for developing that special attitude. And Diane's beauty tips are different than the common fare repeated in women's magazines.
The book is easy to manage (not bulky like some of the recent beauty books on the market), and is written in an easy to read format. It comes with a bonus audio CD by Diane inspiring you each step of the way.
Reading and acting on the suggestions in this book will be like having a personal trainer to help you develop your best style at a fraction of the cost!
