Not Really An Audiobook,

This isn't really an audiobook of Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health, but really a few lectures on Dianetics procedures and some demonstrations. It's actually more useful than the audiobook version, because when you hear Hubbard's demonstration, you will be 100% certain the "auditing" is nothing but hypnosis...because that's all it is. Hubbard swore Dianetics Auditing wasn't hypnosis and even called it "Reverie", because it supposedly wakes people up rather than putting them to sleep like hypnosis. Well, it's still hypnosis, no matter what you call it. There's probably some therapuetic value to Dianetics, but certainly not the exaggerated claim made by Scientologists. Forrest J. Ackerman said Dianetics cured him of his fear of dogs, for instance. This isn't a bad book if you're curious about Dianetics and can't stay awake reading Hubbard's book by the same title. Also check out A Piece of Blue Sky, The Mind benders, and The Bareface Messiah too.
