Thank goodness this product is once again available in non-biodegradable. The stink is more contained--definitely a better product once again.

I like the Dekor Plus and these bags are okay. The diaper smell is not fully contained with this system, however, and there is no warning when you get close to the end of one "roll" of bags. I recommend keeping an extra insert handy to avoid being stuck without a usable diaper pail.

I have found the Diaper Dekor Plus and it's refills to be very effective. As a first time mother I didn't really see the need for a special diaper dispenser. I thought I could just run the stinky diaper out the the trash each time. Rookie mistake. Anyway, a girlfriend (with two older children) knew my plan and gave me the Diaper Dekor Plus as a gift. I don't know what I would do without it. The smells are controlled, the bags are very easy to change and reasonably priced. Definitely worth the investment - especially at 2:30 am, 4:00 am, 5:45 am, etc.

If you're buying these, you've already got the Dekor Plus system, and know how good it is. You may not know how long the refills last though, because you're just using the one that came with the system. Let me tell you they last for AGES! My son is 3 months old, and going through 8-9 diapers a day some days (due to his ability to poop before, during and after we've changed him) and we are only about half way through our second cartridge. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because there is no red line printed at the end of the roll to let you know you're about to run out, so always have another cartridge in stock.

This is by far the best diaper pail on the market. Prior to owning this make, we had a Baby Trend Diaper Champ Deluxe, Blue and I had a chance at our local baby store to put my hands on all the other models.

Pro:

Double seal system keeps odors in.
Foot peddle opener makes it easy to open lid.
Super easy to change bags.
Will convert to a regular trashcan when baby is out of diapers.

Cons:

Top heavy; baby can easily tip it over (although it usually remains closed).
Replacement bags are expensive. Wish I could find a cheaper alternative.

Overall, this is clearly the leader in diaper pails. Don't fall for the gimmicks the other manufacturers are trying to sell you.

There are dozens of dramatic reviews on different versions of the Diaper Dekor refill and system. People are apparently very passionate about diaper pails.

I'll keep it simple. Here are the reasons why I kept the Diaper Dekor and tossed the other three systems:

1) Simple, straightforward re-fill design. The plastic is one long roll which you tie off as you use it. Super easy and will save you money in the long-run.

2) NO STINK. I have used the Diaper Dekor system and these refills for 2 years now and I have never had a problem with stink. I think we need a little common sense-- NO diaper pail will smell fresh if its kept full for days on end and never cleaned out. I empty the pail every 4-5 days (you just tie it off, so you're not wasting liners), and I also run a sanitizing wipe along the inside. That keeps it fresh.

3) Price: because of the "tie it off" system, you end up only using as much of the refill roll as you need. Want to empty the pail after a particularly smelly diaper? Fine-- tie off after a couple inches. Leaving it full for many days? No problem-- tie off a few few feet. Its a much less expensive system.

I have tried the biodegradable and non-biodegradable versions of the refills. I have not noticed ANY difference in smell/quality between them. I also use biodegradable diapers, so it makes sense to keep everything eco-friendly when I can and I like that Diaper Dekor gives you the option of choosing from green or regular liners.

We've had a Diaper Dekor Plus for years now, ever since my first was born almost 8 years ago. I love it as a diaper pail, and I love the fact that it would also be great as a trash can. Of course, we're still using it for diapers since I still have younger children in diapers. And these refills are great for it - they make it extremely easy to use, to empty, and really do help contain the smell. Yes, you could use other bags in the Dekor, but these make it so much easier. These would also work well if you were to be using the Dekor as a trash can, I imagine. It's also quite easy to change out the refills when the one in use runs out. I'd definitely recommend both the Dekor and these refills for use with it.

The continuous bag system is pretty easy to use as long as you are comfortable tying knots in plastic, but I find it annoying that the system doesn't include an indicator near the end of the "roll" to prompt the timely purchase of a refill.

I was given a Diaper Genie and the Diaper Dekor plus as shower gifts. I find that the Dekor plus is easier to use and uses far less plastic for those environmentally conscious. You only need to use your foot to open the lid to throw out the diaper instead of 2 hands for the diaper genie, leaving your baby at risk for a few moments of falling off the changing table.
