Why all the drama? Both versions of these liners work great!,

There are dozens of dramatic reviews on different versions of the Diaper Dekor refill and system. People are apparently very passionate about diaper pails. I have tried the biodegradable and non-biodegradable versions of the refills. I have not noticed ANY difference in smell/quality between them. I also use biodegradable diapers, so it makes sense to keep everything eco-friendly when I can and I like that Diaper Dekor gives you the option of choosing from green or regular liners. Highlights: 1) Simple, straightforward re-fill design. The plastic is one long roll which you tie off as you use it. Super easy and will save you money in the long-run. 2) NO STINK. I have used the Diaper Dekor system and the regular AND biodegradable refills for 2 years now and I have never had a problem with stink. NO diaper pail will smell fresh if its kept full for days on end and never cleaned out. I empty the pail every 4-5 days (you just tie it off, so you're not wasting liners), and I also run a sanitizing wipe along the inside and the top. That keeps it fresh and sanitary. 3) Price: because of the "tie it off" system, you end up only using as much of the refill roll as you need. Want to empty the pail after a particularly smelly diaper? Fine-- tie off after a couple inches. Leaving it full for many days? No problem-- tie off a few few feet. Its a much less expensive system. Biodegradable or regular? Both work.

These biodegradable bags don't hold in odor like the old ones. I used to walk in my daughter's nursery and not smell a thing. Since using these bags her nursery smells. I'm disappointed and hope that I can find the old ones AND hope they are not an arm and a leg.

Works Great!,

These refills work great...I've had my diaper dekor plus since 2004 and just started using these biodegradable refills. I've not noticed anything different from the regular refill bags in terms of ease of use, ability to trap odor, etc. The only reasons I gave it 4 out of 5 stars was because (1) there's less refills per box though the price doesn't drop much--about $12 for 2 instead of $14 for 3, and (2) they're smaller--holding less diapers per refill than the regular ones, thereby making them more expensive as well. But, if you can afford it and/or aren't bothered by the expense, I don't see any reason to NOT use them. Hopefully with a little time, the company will start offering them at a more reasonable price for the amount of dirty diapers you can bag & toss.

These inserts are just as good as the old kind. I was really reluctant to buy them after they were so poorly reviewed. Maybe I have had more success because if it's a #2 diaper, I dump what I can into the toilet before the diaper goes into the pail... Don't throw away your diaper dekor! I think these are fine.

We've been using the Diaper Dekor regular refills for some time, but figured this time around to try to biodegradable variety. They cost a smidge more, and seem to perform just as well. Not sure exactly when/where/how the bags will biodegrade, but at least as a theoretical, it's nice to image these bags won't linger around for centuries.

A great eco-friendly option,

I'm not sure why all the complaints. My daughter is 9 mos. old and we have been using these from day 1. These actually smell better (they are lightly scented) and contain odor better than the regular non-biodegradable inserts. Sure, the diaper pail stinks for a few minutes when I open it up to toss a diaper in, but what diaper pail doesn't? I'm using a box of the regular inserts right now because I couldn't find the biodegradable ones for a while, and the whole room stinks like diapers. I'm so glad these are available again.
Pair these with your gdiapers and you're doing the earth a big favor!

Make sure you have DD +,

As described below (man I wish I had read the reviews first) it only works with the original diaper dekor - not the Diaper Dekor +. Ended up sending them back, took weeks to get a partial refund.
For the recoord, we love our DD+, and this was our first disappointment in 4 years (and 2 kids) with our 2 units.

Stinks like POO,

We love our Diaper Dekor... or at least, we used to until we accidentally bought these refills instead of the regular ones. We didn't realize our mistake until we noticed that the nursery now smells like poop ALL the time (not just when you open the pail to toss in a dirty diaper). Ugh. We're going back to the regular refills. We try to be as green as possible, so I would love to use biodegradable bags, but what's the point when you're filling it with non-biodegradable diapers?

Biodegradable totally changes the product!!,

I was so worried about ordering these, since some reviews stated that the odor wasn't being contained with these new biodegragable liners. AND THEY WERE RIGHT!!! We only put #1 diapers into the Diaper Dekor, and the nursery starts to smell after the bag is only half full. With the old regular liners (not biodegradable), we never smelled anything until we changed the bag. I'm so disappointed that in trying to do something good for the earth, the product ended up being compromised. I am happy to say I just found the 'regular' liners on Amazon though !!
