I have the old model Diaper Genie and am sooo glad to have one! A few comments:

1. Some people claim the refills are too expensive. We get them at WalMart for less than $5 each and each one has lasted more than a month, even with a 7-month-old who poops like it's an Olympic sport. $5 a month is worth it for the convience of not having to change it as much as you would with a garbage bag - which are probably about as expensive.

2. Some people say it smells - I can't believe that. Even with our baby eating solid foods and making hideously stinky poops, there is NO odor in our nursery. Not even a little!! I empty it every 7-10 days and there is never, ever an odor coming from it, even when I am sitting next to it playing on the floor with the baby. We switched to the Toddler strength or Stage 2 refills at about 9 months as he started to eat more "real" food - still no odors!

I love that the Genie is easy to use, easy to empty and refill and that there is no smell at all. We don't use it for wet-only diapers and I would recommend it to everyone with an infant.

We had recieved a Diaper Genie I from my sister-in-law when we had our son. This product advertises a picture of the "Stage 2" diaper genie refills...which they're not. Apparently there is only one type of refill now for the Genie I. They need to change the picture!! I was hoping to find something that worked better, that smelled less...but I recieved the same refills that I buy in the store - that don't specify any stage or anything. Totally disappointed. Genie I is an okay product. We place one of the refrigerator Arm & Hammer boxes in the bottom of the Genie to help with the smell and it works out okay. (We change the Genie 1-2x a week).

Works great to keep smell of litter boxes out of the house. We sift from litter box into bag and then store in diaper genie.

These are great because they really seal up the diapers wonderfully. And the bags have a lovely "baby powder" scent. The only issue i have with them is that when i go to dump the diaper "sausages" in the trash, the genie doesnt always cut entirely thru the bag. So i have to tug on it a bit to rip it free. But really, thats a small price to pay for the fact that I cant smell my son's horrid formula diapers!!!

I've been using diaper genie refills for 3 years now and i have never had a problem with them.

The product is very good. It's a shame however that it's neither sold in nor shipped to Europe. I had to have it sent to a friend's address in the States who then shipped it to me in Switzerland.

I must admit, we didn't have to use these long, my little one was using the potty at 16 months and fully trained by 22 months, but for the little time we did, the toddler stage refills were a great item. It really made a difference. Must have.

It was very convient to be able to go online and order the refills. I live quite far from a Toys R US and this was the best way to get them quickly.
