Book Description

"You might think that five angels gathers around the dinner table would―if nothing else―inspire good table manners."

Forenica has never guarded anyone before, let alone been responsible for a soul. All that changes when she joins the ranks of heaven's angels as a Junior Guardian. Her first assignment seems simple enough; her charge, Angela Higgins, seems too perfect to have any trials. Quickly she learns, however, that helping Angela make it back to heaven is no trivial undertaking.

Soon after Forenica's assignment, Angela's family suffers an unexpected crisis, which threatens to destroy her marriage and to snuff out what little faith she still possess. As their situation grows bleaker, Angela also struggles to hold on to her wayward teenage daughter. Feeling powerless to help, Forenica seeks for answers to Angela's problems in the annals of heaven. Searching through Angela's past, Forenica uncovers secrets that will change both their lives forever. In the end, however, an unexpected angel will offer Angela the miracle she needs.

About the Author

Michael M. Farnsworth holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Texas A&M University. A degree that comes in handy if you're a software engineer, which he is, but not so much if you're a writer. As a native Texan, he should know lots about riding horses and herding cattle—but he doesn't. He does, however, know a good deal about wrangling small children. He has four of them. When he's not wrangling children, writing code or writing books, he's probably building something. He lives with his wife and children in Seattle, WA.

4.0 out of 5 stars Angels on Earth December 25, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
While I don't believe that human beings return to earth as guardian angels for others, this is a heartwarming story of one soul's love for another. Forenica is supported in her mission by a host of other angels who team up to be the assigned guardians of the Higgins family who have come onto hard times. Through their faithful guardianship they see this family through life as it comes at them. I found the story particularly interesting in how it portrayed the goodness of one human being for others in the stresses of everyday life and how one's life can often be a blessing to another if we see all of God's children as our fellow men and love our neighbor as God bids us to do. I recommend this story to all readers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quite touching October 27, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book touches on spiritual concepts that seemed to hit home for me. The every-day familiarity of the character's story-lines combined with ideas that we sense around us, like guardian angels, but can't ever put our finger on I thought was well-done. I was surprised at how this book touched me-- definitely worth the money and quite thought-provoking. I highly recommend it!

4.0 out of 5 stars I love Angels and this was an Inspiring Read! July 17, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Let me start my review by saying, I do believe in angels. Before I ever read this book I've felt that angels live among us and help us day by day. So reading this story about Guardians Angels was a true pleasure. The author portrays Heaven exactly as I hope it will be. I loved the idea of people that have passed on being assigned as guardian angels. The story is about one such soul, Forenica, who is not assigned a baby like usual, but is instead assigned a grown woman, Angela, with many troubles in her life. Forenica's assignment is to help her through the struggles of life and to return safely to Heaven one day.

This story is so touching and heartfelt. It also has a level of angst and suspense as the reader wonders if Forenica will truly be able to help Angela with her problems. There are some sticky moments where Satan's army looks like it will win.The thing that I'll remember most about this book, is that we can receive help from Heaven. We are not struggling here by ourselves. There were so many moments in this book that brought me to tears. You will be drawn to the wonderfully written characters, the angels and the humans on Earth. This sweet story is one that you will want to share with those who need a "pick-me-up" from the drudgery of life. Whatever religion you participate in, if you believe in God and angels, this book will be an inspiring read for you.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Real Surprising Book November 11, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
I almost stopped reading this about chapter two or three. I thought it boring and not to my liking. Then I just hated the idea of borrowing a book from the Amazon lending library and reading it. I am sure glad I persisted. It turned out to be a real
sweet story about life and death. The hard times of life and the good things. It was a tear jerked at the end. It also has rich religious Christian overtones. It is wholesome and a pleasant change of pace read. I loved it despite its slow beginning.

5.0 out of 5 stars Faith January 31, 2014
By jme
Format:Kindle Edition
Diary of an Angel by Michael M. Farnsworth is a book about guardian angels and faith.

Forencia is guardian angel in training and she is ready for her first assignment. Usually an angel in training is assigned to a newborn, but not this time.

Forencia's first assignment is Angela Higgins, wife and mother, whose family seems to be the ideal family but very soon cracks start to appear soon after Forencia is assigned. The family experiences an unexpected crisis and it's starting to tear the family apart.

Angela thinks if she has faith and believes in God nothing bad will happen to her or her family and now she questions her faith and belief in God. Forencia is searching heaven for a way to help Angela keep her faith and belief in God.

I enjoyed reading Diary of an Angel because it reminded me to always have faith and believe in God.
