5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning visuals and engaging content. August 1, 2012

The images themselves justify this buy. You can come back and view them again and again and be mesmerized by the detail. Add to it the real insight into the mind if the artist and this is a must own gem for those who love photography and the human image.

5.0 out of 5 stars Into the mind of an exceptional body painter July 18, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I recently read this book and just loved Paul Roustan's thoughts as he approached, executed and reflected on his own work..

Being an exceptional body painter is great, but having his thoughts on "paper" really lets us into the world of phenomenal talent, personal grace and creative inspiration.. If you want to know the challenges and perks of being a body painter.. get this book.. Although he doesn't explicitly state them as such... its apparent that he has gone through just about all situations while being on top of his field..

Great read... Awesome photographer too..

Paul Roustan has written a very entertaining book about his experiences as a body painter. It is somewhat like a cross between a journal and series of essays, and I couldn't stop reading until the end. On the Kindle itself (I have an older version), the photos were a bit frustrating because they lose something without color, and because they show as fairly small, but when I read with my Kindle for PC, they were great.

A good deal of fun, and I would recommend to anyone interested in body painting, especially those who follow Paul Roustan on Google+ and elsewhere.

My wife loves the book, especially the photos of the inspired art. She looks forward to seeing more books on the artwork by this person and other body painters.

Paul Roustan's work can be summarized in one word; wow. His interpretation of both the human body and the subject are matched only by his vivid use of a visually stunning color palette. This book offers more than just artistic eye candy though. It offers an insight to a complex artist and an even more complex man. Many people think of body painters only as attractions at festivals or side shows, but Paul has taken this art form out of the Fantasy Fest world and brings it to a contemporary audience in a way that can only be called art. Paul truly is a unique artist and person, and this book exemplifies just that.
