Diary of an S&M Romance is funny, kinky, sexy and really informative about the BDSM lifestyle. You can agree or disagree with Dollie's choice to be submissive, but trust me, she doesn't care whether you do or don't, and that's the most liberating pose any woman can strike.

Diary didn't just stir my loins, it touched my heart, because it's also a genuninely romantic love story. Not some phony cornball romance, but a this-is-what-can-happen-when-two-people-get-completely-honest-and-real-with-each-other love story. What would happen if your lover knew ALL your proclivities? Would he/she run screaming for the hills? Or are you just too chicken to find out? Dollie and her Master/lover take that chance with each other, and the results are so passionate and yes, romantic (that word again), as to be inspiring even to us vanilla wusses.

I started this book three days ago right after I got it in the mail and would have finished it sooner had I not had to sleep and go to work!
Dollie portrays the submissive with accute accuracy and shows her as a smart, strong woman that can take her strength and give over to her Master. Not many women can do that and alot see it as weak.
I loved this book and am so glad I got the chance to read it.

...who have somehow found each other. That's what I kept saying to myself as I was reading this truly great book. It's very refreshing to see someone write about such a controversial subject with true enthusiasm and an engaging, entertaining style.

I have read other books on S&M and bondage, "the lifestyle", etc, but what makes this one stand out as truly different is that it's a REAL STORY about two real people falling in love and then continuing to do the work required to maintain the relationship.

I have been in long-term relationships with both men and women (and dabbled in the disciplinary arts a bit myself at various times) and although I don't share the same kinks as these two, I applaud Dollie's obvious love for her man and her fearless telling of their story. The index and community information in the back (and Thorndaddy's advice for the guys) was very cool also - a resource I have not noticed elsewhere.

I can't remember ever coming across a book on S&M that reads with such open honesty (and obvious FUN) before. Dollie L. is a truly gifted writer and I look forward to her next literary work.

I truly enjoyed reading this book beause it depicts the ascent into a real relationship, with all of the attendant ups, downs, uncertainty and silliness. Yes, even the goopy, schmoopy nicknamey stuff that two people do when they are falling in love, is authentically written. IMO, you know you've found someone really right for you when you can be completely silly with them... and when you can open up your darkest secrets to them as well. Kudos to Dollie and ThornDaddy for their honesty, and congratulations on the delightfully twisted romance.

I found this to be a warm, hot, silly, serious, smart, and honest depiction of one woman's fortune at finding her perfect (enought to her) mate and Master. Dollie has obviously got a brain and knows how to use it. No wimpy mealy mouth sub is she. But she finds her joy in giving herself and her power to her Thorndaddy. That is one of the bravest things a person can do, IMHO, and to find someone to accept and honor that giving, and to love and respect and control with grace is a rare and much hoped for thing in the BDSM world. Dollie found it, Dollie revels in it, and Dollie shares in this book so much that most would hide. Good, bad, smelly, kinky, perverse, whatever, it is a glimse into a world few see, and one even those in the lifestyle may not know. In a lot of ways, this is just like vanilla romance, only more fun.

I bought a copy after I read the eBook at a friend's house in one night. One LONG wonderful night.

I had to keep stopping to pleasure myself.....not that this book is erotica, it isn't. It has some erotica in it, but in between that are amazing words from an amazing woman...A gal who's lived it, loved it, lost it, and walked through the fire with new knowledge and shares it with us...in a very compelling style. It's like having a cool older friend sit down and tell you how life works, kinky life, and just life in general. But the book just turned me on with possibilities and a love of life that is sensual and intelligent and full of spark.

I am just starting to enter my journey into BDSM, and love what I am seeing. And this lady really knows it, and shares what she's learned, in a compelling and sweet way.

I'm 24, but feel like I don't know a lot. When I grow up, I want to BE Dollie Llama.

As I was a complete novice to the BDSM world, this book was a wonderful introduction to the mind of the submissive. It shows with beautiful clarity that a person can surrender willingly to another and gain great pleasure from doing so. They are not sick, they are simply using the road less travelled and gaining greatly in the process.
I also found Dollie's words a marvellous insight into the minds of some people I associate with every day. While people who are into kink are a small percentage of the population, this book will give you reason to pause when you are talking to some apparently straight up people. It certainly has given me a new perspective on life!

I can't say enough about this book. I couldn't put it down. I read it front to back the minute i got it. I laughed and cried at the cute, loving couple and her emotional journey. The thing about them is that they truly complete each other. She is genuinely happy to serve Him and He, in turn, loves to beat her "with love" as He says. if you've read this book, you definately NEED to go on iTunes and subscribe to their podcast "Submission and Coffee" and hear the way these Two speak to each other. They've been called the "Rob and Laura Petrie" of D/s and this is correct. After reading this, and listening to them, you will never think of "Bondage people" the same way again. They might be living right next to you! I am proud to call both of them friends, and hope to for a long time!

I received my copy today, and started reading before I turned off the truck to go in the house. I LOVE IT!!! What a beautiful (realistic) view of love and devotion between two people. The dynamic is clear and Dollie maps out this dance of BDSM that we all know of but perhaps don't fully understand. Reading the love journey between ThornDaddy and Dollie brings hope, honesty and clarity to those of us into bondage. "Diary of an S&M Romance" is a must MUST read for anyone who is serious about entering into this type of relationship.

More than that though, I feel this book would be a great read for anyone who has even a slight interest in BDSM, whether or not they're active in it. Very well written. Down to earth and easy to relate to.

This book will always remain one of my favorites!

I was intrigued by the title and didn't honestly expect much from it. I will say that I was blown away with the honesty, caring, and loving perspective it is. I also enjoyed that there are intellectual and stimulating discussions and perspectives.

I highly recommend any of Thorndaddy's and Dollie's books. They are two people who are highly in love and have total respect for one another.
