Definately a must have read! i haven't laughed that hard reading a book ever! perfect book to get stuck into when ur curled up by the fire and snowed in for christmas, you'll enjoy it so much you wont care that the snow is 3foot high at your back door and your isolated from the rest of civilisation! Altho once you pick it up you wont put it down again until you turn the last page! honestly cannot wait for you to bring out the next installment Joanna!!

Sheer Bloody Poetry,
This review is from: Diary of a Ryde (Kindle Edition)
Not since Roddy Dolye has there been such an accurate description of contempary Dublin ...not in the rare auld times but the bloody here and now times. Few books actually make you laugh out loud but this book will make you LOL so much that if you are reading it on public transport you will get some very odd looks.A book to lift the miserable austere recessionary spirits. One bit of advice and I am sure Joanna would appreciate it and agree. Keep a spare pair of knickers in yer Playa Del Bossa Gucci ' Lucky Lucky' hand bag. Pennys obviously.

This book is a funny read into young Irish life, it has the woes of young dating, the north versus southside divide in dublin. For irish people it a funny read as you'll recognise some of the characters from you own circle of friends and even find sayings you'd use yourself, "only mafis". Anyone in the 25-35 age bracket will recognise some of the places it mentions and bring back memories of your own teenage years.International readers will get a taste of the famous dublin wit and a new knowlegde of the northside dialect! Lighthearted, fun read.

It's great to see a taste of Dublin not normally seen in recent literature. From the colloquial dialogue to the vast characters, this is definitely a great buy for anyone looking to laugh their socks off but who also really want to get to know the characters. I would recommend it to everyone!
