I honestly have no idea what happened with the other reviews, but the boots I received are DEFINITELY real leather- the smell right out of the box was proof enough, and the leather is incredibly soft and high quality! Due to the other reviews I even asked my mom for her opinion, and she agrees that they are real leather. These are probably the most amazing boots I've ever owned, and I am picky. The shaft is very soft and floppy, but when worn over skinny jeans they stay up. You can also scrunch the shaft all the way down and wear them as calf-high boots, which is adorable. My ankles have full range of movement in these boots- not because the ankle is really wide, but because the leather is so soft. The sole seems very durable but is flexible, and padded. The heel is a bit heavy and took some getting used to, but once I got used to it I could fully appreciate how comfy these are. I feel like I could walk for miles in them. The toe box is slightly narrow for my wide feet, but since it's leather I'm expecting it to give a little. The boots were extremely difficult to get on at first- getting my heel past the heel cup took five minutes of work per foot, but it's so worth it and the more I wear them the easier they are to pull on and off. The calf circumference measurement is accurate- this boot is not for people who have thicker calves!

THESE BOOTS ARE VERY NICE BUT ARE NOT LEATHER....NOT LEATHER !!! SO, AFTER A FEW WEAR N TEARS THEY SCRAPE VERY EASILY...BUT I ENDED UP BUYING 3 PAIRS, CAUSE I JUST LIKED THE WAY THEY LOOK...ALSO BUT ONE WHOLE SIZE SMALLER...THEY RUN BIG,AND AFTER A FEW WEARS THEY TEND TO STRETCH!!!

I just received these today and they aren't exactly what I expected. They are cute and I'm going to wear them, but one of the reasons I wanted them was because the description said it was made of leather. Silly me, I thought that meant REAL leather. It's definitely synthetic leather (kinda feels like a cheap fake leather jacket), and the shaft is pretty flimsy. The sole is definitely good quality though. You could probably walk forever in them. Even though they are on super sale on Amazon for $67, I think they are about $40 quality. Too bad.

I wrote an earlier review regarding the size issues with these boots. The new boots arrived and they fit perfectly! I guess the last set were just an odd pair. I still recommend ordering a size smaller.
