This dictionary leaves no word left out. Each entry has all the possible ways you might want to use that word in a sentence, along with many common phrases.

El Larousse es el mejor diccionario bilingüe español-inglés. Trabajo de intérprete y dispongo de varios diccionarios, pero éste es el que siempre llevo a mis citas. Esto me provoca dolor de espalda de vez en cuando (el diccionario no es grande pero tampoco es pequeño, y pesa bastante si lo carga en su bolsa todo el día), pero seguramente vale la pena. Aparte de las traducciones generales, el diccionario Larousse explica clara y concisamente los regionalismos, los modismos y los términos técnicos. ¡Se lo recomiendo con entusiasmo!

If you are serious about studying spanish, this book is for you. There are so many words and plenty of cultural information about Spanish-speaking countries. The price is great for such a complete dictionary. This book is equally as good for Spanish people trying to learn english.

This is not my first Spanish-English dictionary, and it certainly won't be my last. My 1994-1997 copy of the Larousse dictionary is concise and very legible, well laid out and easy to read. It is suprisingly comprehensive for a pocket dictionary, and I can usually find the translation I am searching for.

Unfortunately, I am an American studying Mexican spanish, and this dictionary often leads me astray as it is written for English people studying Spanish from Spain. My favorite obscure reference is for "lollypop lady", hardly a coloquial American phrase, and English definitions for Spanish words are occasionally equally baffling unless you are fluent in "English".

An excellent dictionary for people interested in cross-cultural study.
