Dichotomy B... Too Hot 4 Tha Industry,
By The Great "Holy Hip Hop" HOPE (Memphis, TN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dichotomy B (Audio CD)
This group has been the "OUTKAST" of the Holy Hip Hop game. They have the ability to change their style musically and evolve into a even tighter duo. Dichotomy A & B would have been historic if it had been a Double CD. Seperately the GRITS Dichotomy collection was hot enough to keep us beggin for more. I am patiently lookin for thier next project.
1. On My Way - dramatically crunk intro... 2. If I... - down south futuristic feel... 3. Open Windows - layed back story... 4. We Dont Play - rock hip hop anthem... 5. There I Go - cuban classical flavor... 6. Saved Soul - heavy south feel... 7. U Want It - southern dj dance feel... 8. In Your Eyes - poetic love vibe... 9. Feel My Flow - a beatbox drum scratch flava... 10. Sippin Some Tea - a country chill style... 11. Next(Interlude) - a poem... 12. I Wanna Be With You - a summer love fling vibe... 13. Stressin Me - a GET OFF ME!! flow... This CD can Truly play from Alpha to Omega... It will stay in my car and tempted to buy another to keep at home... Sooooo Worth Your TIME and MONEY...

something for everyone,

This review is from: Dichotomy B (Audio CD)
wow. it's that good. tracks 1, 2, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12 are good enough that most rappers would want to cut off a limb for any one of them. the others aren't so bad either. been listening to public enemy, krs one, tribe lately. they had something to say. grits has been studying up. they come up with something substantial, heartfelt, skilled in a way you dont hear very often these days (like the above artists).
its dense enough for repeat listens. music is good enough to bring you back. if you dont listen to rap but like good music, its a good introduction. if youre a longtime fan, you wont be sorry. either way youll probably have it on repeat for a long time. buy it.

Step Down To Dichotomy B,
By Michael Harmon (davis california) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dichotomy B (Audio CD)
All things being equal (beats, flow, Christian content) I thought there was only about 4 really great songs on Dichotomy B. I felt that this cd was a step down from Dichotomy A in that with Dichotomy A I skipt maybe 2 songs. On Dichotomy B I rarely listen to it and have put those 4 songs on my personal Grits greatest hits cd. Although Grits had 2 albums prior to Grammatical Revolution, I think they came into their own on Grammatical Revolution which was close to perfect, dropped some with Art of Translation, came back to great heights rivaling Grammatical Revolution with Dichotomy A and continued their spiratic placement with a step down with Dichotomy B. That being said I still love these guys. I love Bonafide's and Coffee's contrasting rap styles and I think they really compliment each other. These guys arent afraid to take chances, hit or miss, which if you have heard their last 4 albums you know how different the styles are but held together fast by their rap game and ultimatly their love for Christ.
