4.0 out of 5 stars Nice, but different, Christian rap album, July 4, 2004
I wasn't sure what to expect from Grits this time around, because their style seems to change slightly with each record. This record definitely carries a style that is distinctive from that of "Art of Translation." I was surprised by the greater influences of smooth jazz and R&B music on the album.

My favorite track is "High," an infectious song whose beat reminded me of something I might hear from mainstream producer Timbaland. Some other favorites include "Hittin' Curves," "Get Down," "Where R U Going?," and "Anybody." From a purely musical standpoint, I find myself a little bored with some of the tracks, as was the case with Grits' past two albums, but the lyrics are meaningful as the duo seeks to edify listeners and win over the lost to Christ. So, in the end, I like the album, though I'm not crazy about it, and I hope "Dichotomy B" has a little more to offer musically. While I prefer the sound of "Art of Translation" to this record, I am definitely enjoying the first part of the two-disc project. This is another solid release that is positive and edifying!

I'd never heard of this band "Grits" until a friend of mind from work told me about them. This Album is Great, I love the enhanced music video for "Hittin' Curves" I just wish I was able to rip it to my computer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mind Blowin' CD, August 25, 2004
GRITS has done it again!!!

Another great CD full of hits!!!

This CD is totaly diffrent from there last. What I like most about it is the use of eclectic beats and there positive message to go along with them. Can't say that there is a track I don't like but of course I have my favorites(Hittin' Curves, Anybody, High, Shawty). Even the people in the car next to me at the red light were BOBBIN' BOUNCIN'to the music. Bottom line is that if you are ready to hear something diffrent than this CD is for you.
