Useful because there's not much else out on this subject yet,
This review is from: Dichroics: Art Glass All Dressed Up (Paperback)
It seems certain that many books will be published on the use of dichroics in just about all phases of the glass arts, but there isn't much in print yet. Unfortunately, this small book doesn't go very far in filling the void.
It does provide a fairly good background on how dichroic glass is made and the history of its use. And it does go into practical matters involving the use of dichro in various glass techniques. However, the practical information is really pretty sketchy and in places is a bit vague and/or redundant. In particular, those who like step-by-step projects may be disappointed. Such projects can be very helpful--not because they provide an easy recipe for a finished piece, but because they can further help the reader get a feel for what the medium is like. There are only two of these, neither of which is especially illustrative or inspiring. Conclusion; this book is kind of expensive for what little it offers, but at the moment it's about the only show in town.

What an amazing book. A great collection of Dichroic Glass, it's origin, and it's beautiful products made by some amazing artisans. A must-see for those interested in this wonderful art form.
