This review is from: Dick Gregory on (Audio CD)
To think that he influenced them all: from Richard Pryor to George Carlin and he is now much forgotten. But the guy was a true genious. And this CD is the proof of it. Even though he is talking about events that took place 40 years ago, the issues he deals with are still there. He was not only a great comedian - because the jokes are incredible, especially the New Year's Eve bust - but also a true visionary. This one is especially great because it's from the 2nd phase of his career, the late 60's, but it's not preachy at all. Don't get me wrong, I love his preach and I think that is what he did best (cf Frankenstein or The Light Side/The Dark Side or at the Village Gate) but it is interesting (and very funny) to hear him talking about the same issues on a lighter tone.
