Editorial Reviews

As lead guitarist with the legendary ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND, Dickey Betts was one of the main songwriters of such legendary songs as "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed", "Ramblin’ Man" and of course, "Jessica". Now, see Dickey Betts and his band Great Southern perform many of these classics in High Definition, with 5.1 Surround Sound and DTS audio.

Betts is the first artist inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame to return to record a performance there live! Filmed on location at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland on September 29, 2004, this package includes a bonus CD of Sound Check versions of some his most popular songs including a never-before-released track "Cleveland Blues." 1.0 out of 5 stars Have a Big Dud, December 13, 2009

Much as I anticipated the performance at this venue by a guitarist I have chased around for years, I have to agree with others who think this video is dreadful. I rarely feel ripped off when I purchase (and I did not buy this through Amazon, I might add) but this one is so bad that I feel compelled to warn others. I am scratching my head over the positive reviews that have posted for this DVD. Run away fast!

4.0 out of 5 stars Not his best, but still very, very good!, November 17, 2005

Yeah, ok, the drummer is way off, his timing sucks and he looks alternatively sick, angry or distracted. Maybe he was sick that day. But we have to remember that it is a live performance with all the screw-ups that come with it. Betts is still a master guitarist and band leader.

My only question is why is the sound on the CD so much fuller and better than on the DVD? They were recorded at the same show! I have to also highly recommend the 3 cd Instant Live set, recorded with this same band.

The music is really good . Great background music , Relaxing . The band is very good and jam well together. Favorite tracks : Back Where it All Begins & Change My Way of Living . The playing gets sloppy in some areas but always bounces back .
