Great, durable material. But the sizes run a little small. My son is 10 years old and wears a size 12. I bought him 5 pairs of pants, all size 12, and I wish I would have purchased a size 14. But otherwise it was a great buy!

My grandson is a wonderful little boy, but has two main problems when it comes to pants: he's bean-pole skinny, so it's a challenge to find pants that fit him well at the waist (and don't look like floods!)and generally look good. Second, he's on the go 24/7 and hard - hard - hard on pants - especially the knees.

My daughter tried various pants that would qualify for school uniform pants and found that, even when she found ones that fit my grandson's waist, he was through the knees - sometimes in days!

Enter Dickies school uniform pants! The pants have an adjustable waist that adjusts adequately to fit my grandson's narrow waist. We were concerned the front pleats would make him look like he stuck a balloon in his pants, but the pants have a naturally slimmer fit and look great.

And the reinforced knees have withstood the test of this very active little boy. My daughter used Dickies pants on him the second half of last school year and again this school year (though not the same pants - my grandson has grown!) and never once have his knees poked out through tattered pants - Dickies have really held up great.

I recommend Dickies pleated front school uniform pants whole-heartedly. They may not be the cheapest initially, but they outlast any other brand we've tried and in the long run 1 pair of these pants is cheaper than multiple pairs of something else.

Dickies pants do run smaller in size than other brands. This helps me, because my boy is a "slim size" in other brands, but then the length doesn't fit right. With Dickies, I just buy the size he needs without worrying about the slim, and they fit great! If your kid is a normal size, go up a size and they should fit fine. As for the stiffness, they come like they are heavily starched, but they wash out great. They make great uniform pants with the reinforced knee! I buy my son 2 pairs every year for school and they last the whole year! In fact, he still wears the ones from last year and they have little wear to show. Other pants I bought him before finding these, tore within about 6 weeks! I have been buying these for almost four years now and all I can say is, Awesome price for great quality!

These pants run very slim. I have a 10 yr. old kinda tall and slim child, and had to buy him a 10 husky. He never wears husky sized clothes. The 10reg. was too slim and the 12reg. was too big around the waist and too long. The 10 husky is pretty good, little roomy with plenty of length. Hoping these won't fade a month into the school year like some other uniform pants we've bought. I'll review again in a couple months to let you know.

Very good Quality, They need to be washed before worn because they are stiff but they are good once washed. The flex waist is a good feature.

My 6 year old is very slim at 34 lbs. We have had a terrible time finding pants for him over the years. These are the first pants we have ever bought that didn't have to be adjusted at the waist and/or hemmed. I immediately ordered 7 pair for school and play.
The reinforced knees are wonderful, as my son is very rough on clothes. The fabric may be a bit rougher than what your child is used to, but these pants are made for heavy duty wear and tear.
However, if your child is not slim? Order up a size or two.....

I ordered these school pants for my son in two different sizes thinking that the bigger size would be too large. But, both sizes were extremely small. These are labeled husky but in no way are they cut husky. The quality of the pants are excellent. Very nicely made with great fabric for school. This is why I gave it 5 stars. The pants are great but keep in mind if you are ordering and have a truly husky child, they probably won't fit. I had to return my order. Thankfully, Amazon offered free returns!

I ordered two pair of these pants for my son. Went up a size following the advice of the other reviews posted. Still very snug in the waist. On top of that Amazon shipped pleated not the flat front pants. Going back tomorrow.

I wish the adult-sized Dickies were made as well as the boys' sizes!! Unfortunately, they do not seem to be (at least not any that I've found). My son goes to a school where they have to wear uniform pants in navy or tan, and I could get away with purchasing 4 pairs for the year (though this year, we've had to trade up because of size rather than wear)! He went every year without outgrowing the pants (because of the flex waist). I could buy them a bit long at the beginning of the year.

I love how these wash, though I did hang them to dry if they had a stain that did not come out right away. They held their shape and did not pill or fade much at all.

ONE time (only once) he blew through the knee in one pair (because he had a surprise basketball game during lunch). I called Dickies (because they guarantee the pants - I thought I would see if this was true). I was told to either send the pants in to the company or to find a local Dickies store (which we happen to have somewhat nearby). I took the pants in and they were replaced at no charge!!

This year he grew out of the size 20 - this style (flat front) does run a bit small. We purchased a pair of the adult Dickies and were unhappy with many aspects (wash, wear, etc.).

My son just turned 5, but he's solid, big-boned, so right now he wears a size 6. I read that these pants run small so I ordered a size 7. It barely passed his knees when he tried them on. The waist is unbelievably small and there was no way he would be able to wear them. I would not even save them for my younger son who is 3 because the waist proportion is just too small to risk keeping. I got better fitting pants at Old Navy.
