I am a muscular guy living in a slim fit world. The loose fit double knee work pant USED to be great for me. About 10-12 years ago I stocked up on these. Bought about a 20 pairs. They were pretty much the only thing I wore. As an engineer these were good enough for the office, and perfect for the field. I used to think that Dickies really understood what a work pant should be.

Then - maybe two years ago - I wanted to get some more if these. Well wouldn't you know it. They changed the fit. I talked to customer service at Dickies. They were great - very helpful. They explained to me that they did indeed change the fit maybe 5 years ago.

The new pants no longer fit well. The new style is slimmed down. I guess somebody forgot that these are WORK pants. I don't care if they don't "drape properly" while standing in the office. I want rugged pants that are truly loose fit.

It's my pet peeve when a company changes the design on something. Dickies can you please go back to the old fit?

You love them or you dont. I dont. Dickies never seem to fit right in the crotch, like a cheap hotel, no ballroom. hard to bend and flex, but dang it will they last forever. Being a courier, I get in and out of a car all day, bending, sitting, lifting, etc. While these are not the most comfortable, they hold up to the abuse. if you want a long wearing pant, these are perfect, if you are a big, built guy, and you want comfort, look elsewhere.

These are my new favorite pants. Comfortable, durable, good deep colors, and a really classic look.

About sizing: take a tape measure and measure your waist, or hips, or wherever you wear your pants. Don't go with what size you wear in other brands of clothing. Dickies makes clothing for uniforms, so an HR representative can just take measurements and order accordingly. Other manufacturers often do what is called "vanity sizing," such that the jeans I bought from a major retailer say "38 X 30" or "40 X 30," but if I measure the waist of those jeans, they're actually 42 or 44. So when you're buying your Dickies pants, take an actual measurement first. This will lead to a much better fit.

As I said -- these are my new go-to pants. I can get wacky colors if I want something fun, or I can get very conservative colors if I want to fit in with squares. I wouldn't go so far as to say these pants are replacements for your khaki pants. They are not. Still, if you wore these with the right shirt and tie, you could pass off a working-class business casual of sorts.

Also, the "olive green" is really quite dark. Closer to grey-brown. A nice color, don't get me wrong, but not as close to Olive Drab as I had hoped.

TL;DR: Use your REAL measurements, and you'll get a great pair of pants.

I've never liked the feel of denim so I was happy to find these pants a few years ago. When you first get them they are very stiff, some may not mind or actually like that, but either way they'll get broken in after a few washes. I don't care for the stiffness so I like to run them through the wash at least once before wearing. These pants have proven to be very durable for work. I bought my first pair almost 4 years ago and that pair are only recently starting to show wear and tear from construction work, but still usable for work. I like the permanent crease, and you should note that the "washed" colors of these pants do not have the crease. I was unaware and although the washed version is more comfortable new (soft) I prefer the fit and look with the crease so I returned them. These pants are nice enough to wear casually also, I only wish Dickies made a non-double knee version of these pants... These pants have a 21" leg opening which is larger than Dickies regular work pants and I find them to be much more comfortable.

These trousers fit well and while the stitching isn't visually perfect like when you buy designer trousers, they look OK and the fabric is close enough to cotton that it feels all right against skin.

I haven't had THESE a long time, but prior purchases of the same trousers have lasted a very long time.

If you have never tried dickies and are fond of wearing jeans, you have no idea what you have been ignoring. I mowed lawns for 6 years. The first two years I wore jeans. A pair of jeans lasted me about a month. A pair of dickies lasted... oh let's see... Oh yeah, they NEVER wore out. They will eventually wear out, mind you, but it will take something VERY sharp or VERY strong to tear these. Another interesting aspect to me is the way they seem to get thinner over time. When new they are like cardboard, but after five years they feel just like a new pair of slacks. The only pair to ever rip on me was at the end of my 6 years as I was climbing over a chain-link fence at a client's property (the client had locked the gate and just didn't seem to care that we had to climb over it with our equipment). A sharp tip of a dangling wire penetrated the pants as I fell ever so gracefully over the fence. I still remember what I was thinking as I hung upside down by my pants. You would think it would have something to do with hanging upside down or falling but instead I thought, "OH man did my pants finally rip?" That is how shocked I was and that is how highly I think of these pants.

I would be remiss if I did not say I have been told that dickies are not the best things to be wearing in a fire. Maybe it is not true but I have heard it several times so you may want to consider that if you are like a welder or something.
