I am a muscular guy living in a slim fit world. The loose fit double knee work pant USED to be great for me. About 10-12 years ago I stocked up on these. Bought about a 20 pairs. They were pretty much the only thing I wore. As an engineer these were good enough for the office, and perfect for the field. I used to think that Dickies really understood what a work pant should be.

Then - maybe two years ago - I wanted to get some more if these. Well wouldn't you know it. They changed the fit. I talked to customer service at Dickies. They were great - very helpful. They explained to me that they did indeed change the fit maybe 5 years ago.

The new pants no longer fit well. The new style is slimmed down. I guess somebody forgot that these are WORK pants. I don't care if they don't "drape properly" while standing in the office. I want rugged pants that are truly loose fit.

It's my pet peeve when a company changes the design on something. Dickies can you please go back to the old fit?

I've had these pants for about a month now...bought three pair and wear them for work almost every day. I like the fit and feel of the pants, however there are a couple of really annoying design flaws that really bug me and I'm close to abandoning these pants due to the flaws. First, the belt loops are way too long and numerous. I have to wear several things on my belt for work (cell phone, multi-tool, knife, flashlight) and I have real difficulty finding a suitable place on my belt to store the items due to the lack of belt space not covered by the belt loop "tunnels". It's not like I have to hang the flashlight in front of my crotch, but it does have to hang in the lumbar area, causing a problem when I sit down. But the most annoying thing is the side pockets...I mean REALLY? Did human beings try this style on before mass production began? It is far easier for someone standing behind me to get into my pockets than it is for me to. It really takes quite a bit of effort to get my hands and wrists contorted into the correct position to get into the pocket as the pocket opening is far more vertical and way toward the posterior than any other pant I have ever used...I thought I could get used to the pocket position, but after a month, I'm giving up. I have purchased another style of Dickies pants that have normal pockets and belt loops, so I know that they know how to make good pants...don't know what happened with these.

These are my new favorite pants. Comfortable, durable, good deep colors, and a really classic look.

About sizing: take a tape measure and measure your waist, or hips, or wherever you wear your pants. Don't go with what size you wear in other brands of clothing. Dickies makes clothing for uniforms, so an HR representative can just take measurements and order accordingly. Other manufacturers often do what is called "vanity sizing," such that the jeans I bought from a major retailer say "38 X 30" or "40 X 30," but if I measure the waist of those jeans, they're actually 42 or 44. So when you're buying your Dickies pants, take an actual measurement first. This will lead to a much better fit.

As I said -- these are my new go-to pants. I can get wacky colors if I want something fun, or I can get very conservative colors if I want to fit in with squares. I wouldn't go so far as to say these pants are replacements for your khaki pants. They are not. Still, if you wore these with the right shirt and tie, you could pass off a working-class business casual of sorts.

Also, the "olive green" is really quite dark. Closer to grey-brown. A nice color, don't get me wrong, but not as close to Olive Drab as I had hoped.

TL;DR: Use your REAL measurements, and you'll get a great pair of pants.

These trousers fit well and while the stitching isn't visually perfect like when you buy designer trousers, they look OK and the fabric is close enough to cotton that it feels all right against skin.

I haven't had THESE a long time, but prior purchases of the same trousers have lasted a very long time.

I've never liked the feel of denim so I was happy to find these pants a few years ago. When you first get them they are very stiff, some may not mind or actually like that, but either way they'll get broken in after a few washes. I don't care for the stiffness so I like to run them through the wash at least once before wearing. These pants have proven to be very durable for work. I bought my first pair almost 4 years ago and that pair are only recently starting to show wear and tear from construction work, but still usable for work. I like the permanent crease, and you should note that the "washed" colors of these pants do not have the crease. I was unaware and although the washed version is more comfortable new (soft) I prefer the fit and look with the crease so I returned them. These pants are nice enough to wear casually also, I only wish Dickies made a non-double knee version of these pants... These pants have a 21" leg opening which is larger than Dickies regular work pants and I find them to be much more comfortable.
