A pilot's comments,
By Marvin Hankins (Austin, Texas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dictionary of Aeronautical Terms (ASA Reference Books) (Paperback)
Although this dictionary is big, there are a significant number of terms I was unable to find that are important to instrument/commercial pilots - visual descent point (VDP), for example.Seems to be more engineering/maintenance oriented because those types of terms are exhaustively covered.

This dictionary has everything you need in it. Im in A&P School and I use it every day. And other students borrow it on a regulay basis. It keeps me from running to the computer every time I need to understand something.

Worthwhile for a mechanic,
By Jedidiah (Portland, OR) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dictionary of Aeronautical Terms (ASA Reference Books) (Paperback)
This was a required book for my A&P program. We haven't used it a ton but it has definitely come in handy from time to time. Some of the definitions are circular -- two definitions each referring to the other -- but for the most part they are clear and concise, quite helpful.

Thier is a tremendous amount of information in this volume and for that I give it four stars. I am an aviation mechanic who has looked to it as a reference more than once and not found the aviation word or term I was looking for. For that I cannot give it five stars. Still a valuable reference.
