Book Description

Day-To-Day July 1, 2003
A national best-seller, The Dictionary of Cultural Literacy has been widely acclaimed for identifying and defining the core body of knowledge that no literate American should be without. Now, in its newly published Third Edition, it has been thoroughly updated to reflect the changing face of America and the need to more fully understand other peoples and cultures. This calendar, based on that new edition, explores a different concept of cultural literacy each day. The concept and three possible definitions are given on the front of each page and the correct answer and a detailed definition and current cultural sense of the term are given on the back. Terms are taken from such topics as Fine Arts, Business and Economics, Literature in English, World History, American Politics, Technology, and more. This calendar will challenge readers to find out more about what they know and help make sense of what they read, hear, and learn.

Great way to start each day. Looking at my calendar I get a question on many different subjects. It could be Fine Arts, Politics, math, history...you name it. Each day is so different from the next. Having the calendar, I find it challenges me to research areas I either do not know about...or have lost sight of.

Truly a FUN way to learn something new each day...or at the very least...confirm all that I know.

I will have THIS calendar in my house each year. Buy it..you will be so happy you did. Make it a family tradition...look at the calendar each day and see which family member can answer the question.

Don't ever stop learning.
