Burmese English Dictionary
My students from Myanmar were able to benefit from the dictionary. However, their native language is actually Chin, a Burmese dialect. I'd be ecstatic if I could find a Chin-English dictionary, but I've not found one in print in the USA. The problem? Not all students from Myanmar learn Burmese.

While one of the few/only Burmese-English dictionaries available, this is merely a photo-reprint of Judson's Burmese-English dictionary from the 1800s. Yes, a disclaimer is included at the beginning of the printed version, clearly stating that being published prior to 1923 has made it public domain and that there is potential for much of the material to be blurry...

Yes, a disclaimer is included at the beginning of the printed version, clearly stating that being published prior to 1923 has made it public domain and that there is potential for much of the material to be blurry or unclear, however, there is little to no mention of this in the online product profile. Really, the product is great to have (as a copy of the old dictionary) and is still valuable, but could've used a little bit of a modernization by typesetting in clear modern fonting and may be somewhat difficult to use for those not as familiar with Burmese and hoping to have clear text to refer to. |
