This review is from: The Dictionary of Geography: The Complete Geographical Reference (Educator's Library) (Paperback)
This is a basic dictionary of geography, but in no way shape or form is it a "complete" dictionary. It has place names and geographic concepts suitable for anyone at any age, not dumbed down but very accessible. But as far as advanced concepts for the college or graduate level, you're better off looking elsewhere. See Blackwell's Dictionaries of Human and Physical Geography.
If your kid is taking geography, or if you are teaching K-12 geography (as I did) this book will help in providing well-articulated basic definitions to build on. |
