This review is from: Dictionary of Homophones (Paperback)
This dictionary is very well laid out in a child-friendly format. Fun and funny cartoons add a little relief to the tiresome subject of spelling. As a homeschooling parent, I've decided that a great way to help my struggling speller is to introduce homophones as a means of learning to spell those tricky words which sound alike but have a different meaning. In fact, I think it might be the very best way to introduce those spelling words which have homophone-sound-alikes, rather than introducing the child to a word, like "shoot" and then later another word which sounds identical, like "chute", and yet has a completely different meaning. This book is very helpful to us in our homeschooling program.
