Totally Useless,

This review is from: Dictionary of Keyboard Grooves: The Complete Source for Loops, Patterns and Sequences in All Popular Styles (Musicians Institute Press) (Paperback)
Not good for any of the intended purposes. Wavs containing the "grooves" are not original nor stimulating to hear. The midi file section is pure rubbish. Get some midi files from the internet and you'll get more feel. I bought this book hoping it will have some nice keyboard ideas on different styles for you to play, learn and use on your own music. It turned out to be a recording of cheese patterns using old fashioned keyboard sounds from the 80's, and with no information about music at all. Only if you are into creating music with programs like fruity loops or the like, only then you could get some benefit from this book. If you are a musician, there's nothing for you in here. Don't spend your money on this one.On the other hand, the same author wrote an interesting one: "Funk Keyboards" also by MI press. Get that one, forget about this one. |
