For Marathi people interested in evolution of their language or linguistic heritage of the bhakti movement of the Deccan, it is a good book. It shows examples of word use (vakyaat upayog) and explanations in English and current Marathi. It has a very good list of Marathi words that have either fallen out of favor in this century, or are used in a very modified form currently. You can read books like Dnyaneshwari / Dasbodh by keeping this book beside you.
