The new edition of the Dictionary of Nursing Theory and Research has been thoroughly revised and updated - adding numerous new terms while retaining and revising all of the original entries.

From a review of the first edition:

"An excellent collection of information essential to all nurses, not only those involved in research but also practising nurses interested in innovation and change . . . as well as being an indispensible addition to the reference section of any nursing library, many nurses will find this book so essential to their own private study that individual purchase must be highly recommended" - Nursing Times

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

"This reference is valuable to scholars at all levels of nursing and is especially useful to researchers. Explanatory notes to guide the reader increase ease of use. The terms on philosophy and theory integrate qualitative and quantitative approaches to inquiry by covering the use terms by various authors. The range of terms is extensive and the value of many entries is enhanced by comments that place the term in historical context. Yet, the entries are succinct and clearly written. With this volume at hand consumers of research and theory will learn more easily and quickly."

- Molly (Mickey) Dougherty, PhD, RN Professor of Nursing, University of North Carolina Editor, Nursing Research --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.
