Excellent reference guide for organists
This book is a great guide to the common and not-so-common stops on pipe organs found throughout the world. I remember waiting almost a year or so for my copy to arrive from a book locating agency in the early 1990's. Although very highly priced (as of today February 2005, I've seen the price as high as $499), this book is a good tool to have if you are going to be...

Not worth it.
This "dictionary" is more or less based on visits to a few American organ-builders and a few large organs. The reader should be warned that there are several inaccuracies in this book. Cross referencing is highly reccommended! The price of this book outweighs it's value.

This book is a great guide to the common and not-so-common stops on pipe organs found throughout the world. I remember waiting almost a year or so for my copy to arrive from a book locating agency in the early 1990's. Although very highly priced (as of today February 2005, I've seen the price as high as $499), this book is a good tool to have if you are going to be registering or building a new pipe organ.
It's the most comprehensive guide I have seen to this date.
