Believe it or not, our 18 month old son loves this book. As a fluke, I thought that I would check it out of the library so that I could pick up a few Spanish words to teach myself and then him. However, it has become one of his favorite books; he loves the familiar pictures (from other Dr. Seuss/Eastman collaborations) and hearing the words of another language tickles his funny bone..a lot. This book will now be an essential part of our library.

We are having so much fun with this book. We bought it for our 5 year old daughter but the whole family is enjoying it. It keeps the fun in learning another language.

My baby boy loved this so much he kept "reading" it until the covers fell off and the pages fell out (which is no easy feat, since it is well constructed). I bought it for him when he was a year and a half and he got at least three full years of enjoyment out of it. Hands down it has been his favorite book of all time (he just turned five). I wish they had written a French Dictionary too!

The Seuss Spanish dictionary is a charmer; classic Seuss illustrations are great for the imagination. The fact that this book is educational is a bonus. A child of any age will learn something from it, toddler to college-bound.

I recently began teaching Spanish to 4th graders, and they love this book. There's practically a fight for that book when they have the chance to look up words! The illustrations are very appealing, and I like the fact that it gives full sentences; this can really help students who are learning Spanish grammar. Since the book does use full sentences, though, it's important that they begin reading it with someone who has experience in Spanish--this will help them to understand how the sentences are constructed, identify individual words, and recognize conjugated and infinitive verbs. Highly recommended for any elementary students learning Spanish.

I received this book from my "American" grandparents (my mom is Puertorican) in 1973. I have treasured it and have read it with my now 2 year old daughter. Unfortunately for non-Spanish speakers there is no pronunciation guide. Some words are translated using regional words and there are rare grammar mistakes but the sheer vocabulary and traditional Seuss illustrations make it worthwhile.

An absolute must for your child's library! I just purchased my second copy because my first was over 20 years old and falling apart! It's a fun way to learn basic Spanish vocabulary (not really for grammar) for a child or even an adult.The illustrations are fantastic-very,very cute. Worth every penny.

I bought this book after checking it out many times from the library. It is the best children's Spanish English dictionary i have seen. It's fun, and uses phrases to fit the word in the way it should be used. It also is extensive for a kids dictionary, it covers quite a few words in alphabetical order. Great buy!

we're raising our daughter bilingually, and this has been great for both of us to practice new words with her!

Our little 2 year old loves this book! She points at all the pictures and tells us what she thinks they are. Who knows, maybe she'll start reading earlier with it. The Spanish part isn't as easy to use, though. It's subtitled so she doesn't really pay any attention to it.
