Dr. Cairns' dictionary of theological terms gives the reader clearly-focused snapshots of many complex theological terms in an extremely readable format. He is succint but with enough detail to give the reader a nice overview of the terms he defines. It has earned a place on my bookshelf alongside books on systematic and bibilical theology. Another fabulous work by Dr. Cairns, minister in the Free Presbyterian Church. Dr. Cairns explains, in abundantly clear and plain language, even the most complex theological ideas and debates of the Christian faith. Another real plus of this book is Dr. Cairns insights on which side(s) of a theological debate have the most Biblical merit.Theologians everywhere would do well to emulate Dr. Cairns' example, for all too many go out of their way to confuse and obfuscate, rather than illuminate. Also see Dr. Cairns' book, "Eagles Wings". It is as much a blessing to the heart as this book is to the mind.

This is THE best modern work defining theological terms I have in my library!!! I highly recommend it. (This book has an incredible section on Textual Criticism).
