This book provides an excellent example on the process of researching a topic. It shows why you can't always rely on one internet source for your work. Great read for an elementary child who is learning how to find information for a school project.

I didn't like this book because who wants to read a book about a report? I did like it because I learned some things. I learned that Fleming discovered penicillin. I would reccomend this book to people who are just learning to do reports.

James Cross Giblin has filled a serious need with this timely book about a boy faced with a research assignment from his teacher. Giblin takes the reader on a journey as Jason learns that boring research can turn into an adventure. Giblin reveals the components of research that teachers and librarians stress in the classroom; budgeting time to complete the assignment, using a variety of sources, and checking the reliability of information found on the Internet. This book couldn't have arrived at a better time. Kids will love it for its fast-paced story, and teachers and parents will allow Jason to reveal the elements of research that are so vital to this Google generation. This book is a must have for every elementary school and middle-school library; it is a fabulous read aloud for a beginning unit on teaching research. Students are sure to become as excited as Jason did when he discovered that although researching a topic can have its ups and downs, it can be great fun!
