Peter Turnbull is an excellent chronicler of Glaswegian Crime. The officer's of P division look beyond the face value of a murder as the result of a brawl.

4.0 out of 5 stars Gritty, Glasgow Police Procedural, February 2, 2003
This review is from: And Did Murder Him (Hardcover)
The Kirkus Review clip above gives a nice description of the plot of this police procedural. This crisply written book is one of a series of "Glasgow P Division procedurals" about the officers of a central city police station in usually rainy Glasgow, earlier books in the series start with "Dead and Crisp and Even", then "Dead Knock", "Fair Friday", "Big Money", "Two Way Cut", and "Condition Purple". This is an unsentimental look at the seamy side of urban life in modern day Glasgow. The writing is good and the story moves along. Worth finding, at some point I'll read another book from Turnbull's series.
