Proof of Growth in Korn,
By "mmmtoasters" (Missouri) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Did My Time / One (Audio CD)
This is proof that Korn has grown once again. Did My Time is just amazing. However, I must admit at first I didn't like the song, so if you don't like it, give it a second listen. As for one, a cover isn't supposed to always sound exactly the same. This song appeared on MTV:Icon, and due to time limits they could not play the entire song, so they had to cut some parts out.

I don't care what anyone says BUY THIS. Did My Time is a addicting blend of music and vocals that we've come to expect from Korn. Rock on Boys, Rock on!

Great single great song.,

The cd single of Did My Time is the song itself, a remix of the song, and Korn's cover of Metallica's One when they played at MTV Icon Metallica show. But this.

With Korn's sixth album coming up on the horizon, this CD has been released in part as a sample of what's to come and to promote 'Tomb Raider 2: Cradle Of Life' (which was pretty much D.O.A. last weekend). 'Did My Time' isn't a complete departure from Korn's previous material, but it does sound like they are taking their style in a new direction yet again. The song has the same larger-than-life feel that 'Got The Life' had when it first hit the radio five years ago, and if this is any indication, the new album is going to blow us all away (too bad they had to tie it in with such a "corny" movie). The single is backed by a remix that isn't really worth mentioning. It has a decent beat, but like most Korn remixes, it's a waste of time. The last track is a treat, Korn's abbreviated cover of Metallica's 'One' performed at MTV Icon 2003, which they turn into their own song, while still remaining true to the original (and the recording quality is superb). If you're a Korn fan, you really should pick this up. As much as I support downloading music, I really don't think it's going to hurt you (or your wallet) to just BUY the CD. Too bad they didn't include the video on an enhanced portion, but you can't always get what you want.

The Best Korn Single,
By Ryan Mitchell (Pass Christian, MS) - See all my reviews

This is an all around perfect single. It has everything a single should offer: a great song, a remix, and an unreleased live song. In this case, it's "Did My Time", the "Did My Time" remix, and a live recording of "One" (a remake of a classic Metallica song). This is a single that actually deserves 5 stars. Just in time for the upcoming Korn album, too. I can't wait to see what's in store for us all.

Y'all wanna single? Then get this!,
This review is from: Did My Time / One (Audio CD)
Well, getting this is almost pointless now if you own the KoRn CD Take a look into the mirror, which features Did my time. Did my time contains the Mirror version of Did my time, a re-mix of Did my time, and a live production of the song "One" by mettalica which can also be found of Take a look into the mirror if you wait after the last track is done. On mirror there is silence for several minutes then you start to hear the crowd cheering in the song One. Before Mirror came out this single was popular because KoRn fans were desperate to get their hands on anything knew from this great, amazing, awsome band. Did my time did not dissapoint them. We all expected that Did my time would be on the upcoming album. I frankly was dissapointed when I heard One would be on there too, though. It made getting the single almost pointless if you owned the album because when you buy it it would only be for the Did my time re-mix (and for the picture of Laura Croft on the back (: ) Anyway, the single was only 4 dollers when i bought it and i think it will probobly stay that price. The did my time Re-mix is good, but I wouldm't pay the money just for it. Also look out for the Did my time music video which can be found to download for free of some websites. It features Laura Croft. ;)

Love It,

Jonathan Davis's voice is awesome. I love it much better than the dark santanic voice. They still have the heavy mess though. So ppl dont worry bout it not being hard. Did my time is an very emotianall song that talks about him trying to "find his way" and that he already did his time. The remix is alright. thatz why i took off one star. the real one is better. Metallica should be proud of korn for doing the cover of one. I luv that song.

I haven't heard the remix, but I have heard the cover of "One", and it's nice. I'll mainly be focusing on the title track, though."Did my Time" musically, is a very good song. It strays just a bit from their last record, the somewhat disappointing Untouchables. It's really better than almost anything on that album, too. It's nice to see the band producing this time, too. It really sounds nice, especially the drums. They said it'd be raw, and..well, it's not raw, but it is good. Lyrically...blah. Jonathan has done this over and over and over. His vocals are nice, it seems like they've changed a bit since their last record, but lyrically it's been done by him too many times, thus the four stars. Come on, Jonathan, I really think you can do better. Overall, I'm hoping this record will be good. On Untouchables, it seemed like they had the right idea, but there was just something wrong that's hard to pinpoint. Hopefully with the band producing this time, it'll have a better outcome.
