5.0 out of 5 stars 100%, A+++ blissful summertime reading!
A friend of mine recommended this book but I was dubious. She said it was a lot like "Sex in the City"; however, I have never seen that show nor care to, and I don't exactly fit the "chick lit" target audience. Even so, I picked up the book and found that I couldn't put it down! It was thoroughly enjoyable from beginning to end. In my opinion the book defies any kind...

I read 'White Bikini Panties' and really enjoyed it so I thought I'd give this book a try.
I was very disappointed in it. I thought for sure I'd love it since her other book was so great. Unfortunetly for me I wasted my money. Maybe the reason why is because I couldn't idetify with the characters at all. I don't go sleeping around with random guys and I'm not a...

In my opinion the book defies any kind of genre stereotype. It is well written with solid characters and a fast-moving plot--elements I like in all good books!

The characters Kate and Tracy are so likable that I found myself really caring about the twists and turns their lives were taking. The book also helped me remember what it was like to be younger--the daily grinds and the major decisions I faced.

I'm looking forward to reading the next novel by this wonderful author!

I sure hope her third book will be more along the lines of her second 'White Bikini Panties'.

This is a great, funny novel, and more about having a good relationship with yourself than with a man. Kate and Tracey are both strong women facing huge turning points in their lives. Their strong friendship and sense of humor see them through. I stongly recommend this book for any adult and my husband recommends it too - for the naughty bits ;)

5.0 out of 5 stars Guess What? I Got the Vibe!, May 2, 2004
This review is from: Did You Get The Vibe? (Paperback)
Vibe is a fun and sexy read! And you don't have to be a 20-30 something to enjoy it. Kate and Tracy's fun , frolic, love, lust and relationships with men (and food, too), are universal and ongoing. It's a smile from start to finish.

5.0 out of 5 stars Knowing yourself, January 6, 2004

This review is from: Did You Get The Vibe? (Paperback)
I absolutely loved this debut novel. I was hesitant to purchase this "chick lit" book as I have become bored and somewhat sickened by the stuff published under "chick lit" these days.

However, I am grateful that I went ahead and bought it. The two leads (female) are extremely interesting and well-defined characters.

Oddly enough, the men, in this book play a distant third to the women and their relationship building - with themselves.

The author has chosen to work on her leads and have them discover more and more about themselves with each event in their lives. Be it, career changes, Overeaters Anonymous meetings, these women are growing emotionally and spiriutally.

There are lots of fun moments though and this book is far from being heavy or preachy.

Buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Fun, Must Read!, November 5, 2003

Did You Get the Vibe? It's a question that my girlfriends and I always asked each other as we were dating, looking for "the one" and reading this book made me feel that these two were my girlfriends. Just like Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda are your girlfriends when you watch Sex and the City, Tracy and Kate are your girlfriends as you read this book! They are Chicago girls living in a hip neighborhood who battle the dating game, weight gain/loss, and all those other life-changing decisions. Kelly James-Enger knows how to write today's 20-something girls. It's a fabulous and fun read! I was totally able to identify with this book. I totally recommend this book for any 20 or 30 something.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sex in the Windy City, November 17, 2003

This review is from: Did You Get The Vibe? (Paperback)
I loved it! I fell in love with the Kate character immediately and couldn't wait to see what happened to her. The first scene, where she was trying to find something to wear was just so hilarious - and SO ME! Surprisingly, although at first I couldn't relate to Tracy, the more I read, the more complex I realized she was. And by the end I just loved her.

The dialogue in this book is just so real - my friends and I have those exact converations all the time. This book was like reading about me and my friends - only better.

I highly recommend it. It's funny, and touching, and inspirational. I hope Kelly James-Enger writes more. I want to see what happens to Kate and Tracy!
