4.0 out of 5 stars The plane manages to stay in the air
Well, I'm a die hard fan of the Die Hard siries, ( Ha ha ha.... ) and also of their music. Kamen has quite a gift for music in that genre. Even though it's quality composing, it soon gets boring. It shouldn't be the only CD you have on a long trip or otherwise your head will explode. There is also some music in the movie that's not on it, which dissapointed me a bit. For...

1.0 out of 5 stars Pathetic Score CD, a total frisbee
And totally (almost deliberately)lacking all of the exciting cues that are heard in the movie. The only track that aroused excitement in me was 7. I cannot possibly think who would enjoy this frisbee. Michael Kamen is a great composer and he made up some great music for this film. But you can only hear from the actual movie. 1.0 out of 5 stars Pathetic Score CD, a total frisbee, October 28, 2001

I cannot possibly think who would enjoy this frisbee. Michael Kamen is a great composer and he made up some great music for this film. But you can only hear from the actual movie. Even the main Die Hard Theme is absent from this CD but present in the movie. Why Varese Sarabande left all the cool music is beyond me. Don't buy this CD, I made that mistake and I regretted it. A waste of money.

It shouldn't be the only CD you have on a long trip or otherwise your head will explode. There is also some music in the movie that's not on it, which dissapointed me a bit. For example, the music that you hear as John McClane fights the leader terrorist on the wing of the plane. Still, this heart-pounding soundtrack will satisfy fans, even though it should be twice as long.

Michael Kamen unleashes a powerful action score to the sequel to the hit film, Die Hard. As performed by The Los Angeles Motion Picture All Stars Orchestra, Kamen revisits some of the music from the first Die Hard score and adds new and exciting material as well. The Die Hard theme is present in only a few places in this score, instead leaving the music to fall on the action side. "Colonel Stuart" opens with ominous and suspenseful sounds with snare drum accompaniment. "The Annexe Skywalk" turns into a great action cue with lots of pulsating brasses and marching snare drums. The tracks in the middle contain mainly suspense filled music. "Icicle" is a breathtaking action cue with pulsating horns taken from the first score, "Snowmobiles" contains chasing string passages, and "The Terminal" finishes off the score on a high note with exciting action material. The first Die Hard film used classical music with Beethoven's 9th Symphony. Likewise, classical music is used once again with J. Sibelius' "Finlandia", which although a good piece, doesn't quite fit in with the rest of the music as Beethoven's 9th did. Still, a great action score that is hard to find, but I recommend checking it out if you can find it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Soundtrack!, June 5, 2000

If you liked the movie, you will love this. This has a few songs that are not great, and several that are. I would recommend this cd for all who liked the movie and even those who did not see it.
