It is not everyday that you see your name and read of similarities in a parallel universe of sorts. We share a name and some of the same interests as well as some of the biographical details of our adult lives. That is all of course, as this is the story of a little-known (in the Unites States) and extremely wealthy family in Germany who are most known for their connection to the BMW corporation.
My German reading skills date back to college but I found the story extremely compelling and fascinating. Of course, I had to pass the book on to my mother (born in Berlin) for translating the occasional challenging passage. Now if only I had purchased another BMW instead of the Audi!! |
