dirty ass long island lowlife,

this is the best cd i own period. ra speaks about real stuff that most people dont understand or want to hear. i myself am a dirt poor white guy from long island and been listening to ra since i heard stanley kubrick on the rawkus sound bombing 2. ra spits the truth about being a broke white long island weirdo, rapping about being a dirtbag who people are disgusted by and being in homeless shelters and being a beggar and girls dont wanna mess with you when every other rapper is talking about the streets like it is glitz and glamor. he is not trying to impress you like eminem or draw parallels between himself and black people constantly or say he is the buddy white guy like alchemist. finally a white rapper who does not make himself look like a clown and embarass white people everywhere. ra is the original ass kicking crusty german bastard and he does not care that everyone believes the bs every other rapper talks about. and the best thing about him is he knows all this, and knows what he could rap about or pretend to be like if he wanted to blow up, and why eminem and other rappers make it big and he has been broke rapping for 15 years, and he still keeps it real for the few people that get it. it is damn refreshing and i can't think of anyone i respect more. 2 or 3 beats sound a bit too much like carnival music but who care in the scheme of things.

- there'd been a buzz about the rugged man since the early/mid 90s, but i didn't feel his whole s#!t 'til the TILL MY HEART STOPS verse on the first soundbombing (97) compilation. he had another joint on there, but till my heart stops w/8-off agallah was just diehard spittin'! 8-off's 1st verse was aiight, but ra just summed it up.. then the hook swept in, and it kept me hungry for more. i got a hold of his 94 (non) release "night of the bloody apes" as crustified dibbs.. and didn't really dig it too much, mostly because of the production; and the so-called classic C@#T RENNAISSANCE with biggie smalls was just ok. ra had guest appearances and features on other albums that were memorable, but DIE, RUGGED MAN, DIE is the one. this album has the production that fits ra's style, and i'm glad his crusty dibbs krazy syko inzane persona isn't here. he's still clownin' but not as much. it's just ra in the flesh. and at the risk of sounding wack, he's just keeping it real. >haha i gotta laff at myself. what a dork!< this is the ra the rugged man material i've been waiting for.. to me, this is the follow up to 'till my heart stops'. i mean, eye know this is 2 years since this lp dropped, and he still hasn't mapped as i'd like him, too.. but that's good (bittersweet, isn't it?) cuz he isn't overplayed. imagine mos def or one of your underground idols getting spins and g-unit-type rotations.. that might be sickening, no? kanye west's jesus walks was great when it dropped, but after months and months and months of hearing it everywhere, i had enough.. but i haven't had enuff of the rugged man. this album keeps me satisfied for now.. it keeps me full, and i'll be waiting patiently for the next serving. - -

When I first heard R.A. in the late 90's I liked him and never saw any album of his and came across this one day and I had to get it. A very good album, maybe 4.5 stars from self proclaimed dirty, broke, and grimey white guy. With 13 songs, guests are only on 2 (they're Wu-Tang related artists so they're good), you get a good deal of the Rugged Man. 2 almost classics, 3 ok songs, and the other 8 are tight. His lyricsa re tight, and stright dirty, gutter and grimey, like he says, he cares less about the money and fame just lyrics (he states the fact he loved a lot of the rappers in the 80's), but he has got some talent himself. Production is nice as well, from cats I mostly never heard of. N!gga Nilez does 4 songs, Ayatollah does 2, Koran the LTD, Cologero, Jocko, R.A, DJ Luciano, Dev One, and J Zone all do 1 song. A must have album for fans of true hip-hop.

For one thing, this is one of the most under rated mc's. if u like underground then he is by far up for ranks of king. this cd my very well blow him into mainstream, but i dont think he will go with the flow. in any case hit this cd up and u will undrestand what u have been missing. did someone say wu-tang? they wish. even though i love the crew, this is a mc that they could never keep under their wing. if so, then this is who Remedy should have been. Do yourself a favor. make this cd part of your collection

Don't listen to this guy (Bill Bigsby)!!!!!!!!, he was obviously listening to this cd while curling his hair and clipping his toenails! this cd shows the amount of talent rugged man has in both producing his beats and rapping skill. If you have heard Both Soundbombing 1 + 2 and heard the tracks "Till my heart stops" and "Stanley Kubrick" and were impressed with what you heard then buy this cd!!!

Finally one of the best in the hip hop genre has released a debut! Fortunately I just happend to stumble on this debut from Rugged Man two weeks ago while searching for new cds at amazon. I saw Die Rugged man Die and had to buy it. This cd is an instant classic and it will never leave your cd wallet. The skit "pick up my gun" is worth $15 dollars! If you enjoy original hip hop music with good production and a clear, consise mc then you should already have this release! Thank goodness for amazon becasue you sure as hell would never here about this release on MTV or urban mainstream radio becasue those aren't places to discover groundbreaking music just garbage to consume! Get dumb dida dumb di dumb dumb!

ra the rugged man has been chewed up and crapped out by the record industry over the past decade and a half. i mean, rolling thru Jive threatening execs with a sawed-off and harrassing female employees didn't help but still, dude's got skills! what a triumphant first (released) album! the first 6 tracks are flawless. "lessons" was the single hottest jam of '05. for those like me that value raw rap over boom-bap beats, this is the joint for you! if you like watered down radio friendly hip-pop girly stuff probably not.

Long awaited, Highly anticipated......,

RA the Ruggedman aka Stanley Kubrick, one of the most highly anticipated underground hip hop releases of all time. He has blessed the mic on such classics as rawkus's soundbombings 1 & 2 and some high and mighty joints amongst others. This album lives up to what you would expect from RA, I give it a 4...some of the beats could be alot better but the album for the most part doesn't dissapoint. Underground hip hop is where it's at. "Dead broke white people...Ride wit us! Dead broke black people...Ride wit us!" If you ever get a chance check out "Essential Underground Hip Hop 1" ....(it is listed that way on amazon.com, so just plug that into the search) Track 9 is a Havoc (Mobb Deep) produced track with the QB rep and RA rippin it up. The whole CD is good...more underground talent shinin.

when you look up the word UNDERGROUND in the dictionary there's a crustified picture of "R.A.THE muthaphu**en RUGGED MAN" no-one is more underground then THE RUGGED MAN! fact is:this legend is truely madd famous for being unknown. i remember hearing the name "RUGGED MAN" way back in the late 80's early 90's & then just kind of forgot about him all the way up until recently when i stumbled across what i thought must be his latest album "DIE RUGGED MAN DIE" i was wrong! this is not his latest album! this is his debut solo album!! yes rap fans this cat first broke into the hip-hop seen about 16 to 17 years ago & just recently put out his first album & believe me THE RUGGED MAN tells you exactly why things turned out the way they did & then some threw-out each & every track on this new album. the album is a long awaited masterpiece & R.A. completely delivers! this man is not only pure underground-underrated he also is truley one of the most gifted MC,s in the game & once again just like "HAYSTAK" & "SAGE FRANCIS" you know the only reason dude hasn't blown-up yet is because HE'S WHITE!(there is no other excuse for why an MC this gifted could be so unknown)!!!IF R.A. WAS A BLACK MAN THE WHOLE WORLD WOULD KNOW HIS NAME!!! cause according to the PUNK BIT*H RACIST SOURCE MAGAZINE READING cRAP COMMUNITY "white boys can't rap" because i guess the color of skin is what invented rap cause we all sure as hell know it wasn't POVERTY & geeee we sure as hell know that there aint no such thing as a POOR WHITE BOY!!!! p.s. keep the real stuff come'n RUGGED MAN!
