So why is it that, hands down, the best music being made these days is coming out of Canada? Long dark winters stuck inside? The Canada Music Fund? A cultural coming-of-age? Who knows? But we--the rest of the world--will take it.
This is another great contribution in the emerging Canadian "tradition": sweet, dark, and carefully crafted, subversively melodic, clever. Lovely he/she harmonies, thoughtful instrumentation, intricate composition. Hooky, yet innovative. For me, the best album of 2010. Take a listen at their web site, then buy the CD or some mp3's. These guys should be supported.
